This is just wild speculation, but what if the G-Man is a plot device???
Would be a lot of fun if HL3 would solve every single question there is…
And the after-credits scene would be something along the lines of “WAKE UP GORDON, THE TEST IS OVER, WE’VE NOTHING NEW, GO BACK TO YOUR DORMITORIES” with the explanation of it whole being Gordon’s boredom-imagination during the test. Including Xen.
I’d have thought that, but the events in Episodes 1 and 2 hint at a deeper plot about him.
G-Man caused the Resonance Cascade. He has a definite, if mysterious, agenda. And it’s suggestive that his powers are limited. Remember the vortigaunts were able to mess him up in Episode 1.
G-man caused it by purpose or not?
Cause if he caused it by purpose, why need someone to ‘fix’ it?
Cause he’s probably just a neutral middle man that handles your contracts, as well as contracts of others like you (possibly).
The G-Man is the Devil. He comes off as demonic. He originates from another dimension, his facial expressions, the way he talks, and most of all… contracts. We know the Devil loves contracts…
All kidding aside, he is inspired heavily from Men In Black (the “real-life” UFO lore one’s, not the Tommy Lee Jones/Will Smith versions). MIBs according to lore look and sound exactly like the G-Man. Other examples of characters based off of MIBs would be the Observers in Fringe and the Agents in the Matrix.
not to mention the men in black from the x-files
They just need to chain smoke.
