However, people get happiness and security from them, and who am I to contest that? Religions are the same as every organisation in existence: the only problems arise due to extremists or people that exploit or manipulate through the organisation.

Anyways, while I do agree that any organized religion can be dangerous because of the power religious leaders hold over their followers, that’s no reason to be disrespectful to religious people.
If you go about saying that religion should be purged from the world and that anyone who believes is an idiot, you’re just as bad as those stereotypical christians or muslims that force their belief on you.
If everyone was just tolerant of other people’s beliefs, the world would be a much better place.
