The game’s active. But the community is small, it usually gets active at the end of the work day on week days, and on weekends.
TALOS and the Old Timers Clan are usually the active servers on later.

Talos is full of morons… sometimes. They have less stringent rules.
The Old Timers Clan has quite a few rules, mostly to keep the peace and make it an enjoyable experience for everyone on the server. Usually it’s common sense things with how you interact with other people. Just behave like you would in real life, watch the language, and you should be fine.
Pro-Tip: Make sense, nothing about your post was relevant… they don’t port maps or resources from other games or mods, in fact they make and use their own resources.

Uh - everyone is entitled to their opinion. Different games call for different play styles. Fortress Forever’s far faster than TF2 and has much more thought out armaments for players, it also stays faithful to its predecessor TFC, to some extent.
TF2 has a far wider armament and more players have heard of it. Now though due to too much community involvement, it’s become worse. And don’t get me started on the “buy-only” weapons/items. Those gimmicks are already shown to dis-balance a game considerably, look at the accumulative fail that is Hell Gate:London and you’ll see what I mean.
– On topic: That’s old news. I heard about it about 2 weeks ago, I play it commonly on O-T, once every few nights.
I was kind of being defensive against the people who posted in the video. I don’t know why I was doing it here, but I recognize its an opinion. I just find many people who prefer TFC fairly annoying.
Sorry, I measure games by how fun they are, and don’t judge them by hats/unlockables/superficial and meaningless things. I know its novel and unique and it may be difficult to understand, but bear with that vantage point and you may find yourself enjoying life more.

Well, it’s new for this place, it seems. The thread didn’t spontaneously create itself (like it usually does), so I figured what the hell. Plus, 2.42 isn’t due out for another week, probably, so there’s no need to be too big of a cock tease for something that won’t released for months (or years…but I can’t think of any games like that).
I am, though, happy as hell to see an FF fan somewhere else besides in a server or at the main forum. I’ll seeya in the OT sometime.
Depends on the individual you’re dealing with. I dislike TF2 because it’s horribly dis-balanced. Fortress Forever’s slowly becoming shitty though. They’re removing a lot of the TFC weaponry and replacing it with weird ass game mechanics.

Yes and no… there are quite a few changes over TFC, one of them is much faster gameplay, it takes about twice the time to get across the map in TFC than as it does in FF.
With 2.42 being released you can expect it to practically become its own fortress game as it will implement quite a few changes.

Also: I have been a little disappointed because CS:S was almost the same as the mod, but TF2 wasn’t even close to TFC! Valve even stopped the making of the nail gun. That is why I am happy for mods like this and Black Mesa.
