Just to confuse matters further it was called Warrior King (I can’t for the life of me imagine why) in the UK. And according to IMDB in the rest of Europe its English title was Honour of the Dragon. I did think it was better than Ong Bak, but in both cases it’s more Jaa’s athletic acrobatics that I find impressive than the fight scenes. Although the extremely long one-take fight up the spiral ramp in Tom Yung Goong was impressive as hell.
I still wonder if that really was one take or just had hidden cuts. But very impressive either way.
All one take.
Guys. On the subject of Tony Jaa, I just saw the newest movie by the group that does his movies. It’s called Chocolate and you have to see it if you like action movies. It’s not Tony Jaa this time, instead it’s a young girl (taught by Tony Jaa in real life) who is autistic, and as a result she focuses all her energy growing up into learning martial arts, predominantly Muay Thai boxing. She also grows up watching (and this is a great touch, as it’s the same director) Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong. So, the action scenes in this movie are fucking awesome. She fights just like Tony Jaa, except she’s even faster because she’s just a little girl (I’m guessing about 16). The story and acting are also incredible. The actress playing the autistic girl isn’t actually autistic, and she acts the part so well I had tears in my eyes at the end of the movie. It’s the first martial arts movie that not only had fucking insane fights in it but also incredible acting and story. See it. I command you. It’s worth it.

This scene, is definitely my favorite action scene.
I was already really looking forward to that one.
Do you know if Tony Jaa himself is doing another movie at all?
Nothing since Ong Bak 2, which has yet to be officially released in the USA as far as I can tell.
A toss up between the opening scene from The Beast:

And the fight with the Baseball Furies from The Warriors:
Cant find a link but the shootout in Heat, epic scene.
Bank heist one or DeNiro and Pacino?
That whole movie was excellent.

The whole film…
^ I was actually going to put that one up, but I really wanted to put the scene where Paul Reiser’s character betrays them and the ensuing madness from there.
THE BEST

You mean this one, the one that I was going to post?
I can’t find the opening fight, which I like the best, but this one is pretty cool as well:

Serenity FTW!
My favorite action scenes are the ones that make me laugh, ones that are so spontaneous that you just have to go "Ha ha ha! My god that’s awesome!
Stuff like:

When 007 bursts through the wall like that, you really just go “Oh shit!”
Also, this is the best scene from my favorite monster movie Tremors.

Just when one of the Graboids bursts through the wall of Burt and Ethel’s basement, it’s just their luck that they’re a bunch of gun nut survivalists and proceed to unload every damn gun ever into it. It’s just so funny and awesome.
And finally, the best Martial arts movie fight scene, hands down.

From Jackie Chan’s glory days.
Legend of the Drunken Master, Jackie plays a master of the Drunken Boxing fighting style. He fights an enemy stronger than him, so decides to get wasted on lighter fluid and then goes ahead and kicks his ass. check it out.
The bad guy is played by Jackie’s body guard and yes, the J man does indeed throw himself on live coals. Then he did it again because he wasn’t happy with the first take. The entire fight scene took two-three months to film.
Those are my favorites.
Thread revival!
:FFFUUU:
Why revive it if you have nothing useful to add to it?
