So?
So I thought it made sense to mention how old it was?
So this thread is 21 pages long and to quote from the first page is irrelevant and extremely annoying.
Perhaps, but is that not telling a of a great memory, or?
(Just askin’)
I have no idea what you just said.
He does have a good memory to be able to quote something from the begining of this thread - If it was just from memory…
pretty sure he just opened the thread up, read the first page, and responded to the first thing he could
For pity sake - Sorry all, I was not tracking so well - just caught on - Yeah…
Why can’t people admit they have the same ancestors as apes do
Not like anyone can make fun of you for it
A lot of them feel that, if they share an ancestor with the modern apes, that must mean that their religion is wrong. Others are just uninformed on the subject and they’re arrogant in their ignorance and they insult others who are knowledgeable and believe in the silliest things (such as Evolution = Naziism or that, if there’s even one mistake in the entire history of the Theory of Evolution, it must all be wrong).
Because they think evolution states that humans descended directly from apes/chimps.
It is not a matter of making fun of - The reasons as stated already are a part of it certainly
Part of it as well, is that if a person has been raised to think a certain way, or they are primed to think a certian way, than seeing some other than what their bias is, is rather hard to switch.
Many of the folks who do not hold to evolution are well meaning. Many of them (Some are not, just sayin’) honestly think they are right in what they believe. It is not that they (The ones in the reasonable camp - reasonable as far as general attitude go) are trying to intentionally lie and decieve - They HONESTLY think they are right.
It is kind of like this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJG698U2Mvo
It is not like they are stupid, it is just that they are not seeing what is actually there is all.
So they are unwilling to learn and educate themselves by being selectively blind?
Sounds like they’re stupid to me.
It is not as if ALL of “Them” are trying to be stupid. A lot of them are fed lies and deception form others in the “know”- If someone comes to their church and says
“Hey, I have a master’s degree in biology, and evolution can’t happen because two random mutations cannot work for a benifit to the whole” Then that is smart sounding for someone who does NOT know jack about science. Then, they go on the internet and repeat what they hear. Then they get jumped on and called stupid. Some of them are afraid of science, because they think it is TOO hard. Others, think they are betraying God by even listenting to it.
If you thought you were betraying your God by exploring Evolution, would you be anxious to dive in? Of COURSE you would, because you already see it, and it is damn near impossible to limit your perspective to someone else’s in that place. Same as anyone else. Me included - Still, having come from that camp, it was through pacients and being asked good questions, not just - “You are a dumb ass for for having faith” - that won me over - The only thing that did, was reaffirm that people in the world are lost and Need faith to help them not be so vicious.
Just sayin.
The only problem with that, Note, is that faith is not incompatible with evolution. However, if one chooses to remain in ignorance and then insult others when met with disparate viewpoints by meeting differences with derision, then you’re going to get derision right back.
A million times this.
Yup… I have no problem with that - None.
I suppose I would not have caught on as fast I did were it not for a reasonable person walking me through it.
There is no reason at all to put up with crap from someone - I am not meaning that - not in the slightest.
it’s funny how atheists and scientists who don’t believe in Creation still use the word “Creatures”
We’ve been over that some time ago. A lot of words and terms come from way before scientists opened the eyes of narrowminded beings (look, another word for “creatures”). No reason to change the dictionary just because the myth of religion has been debunked.
Actually, I think I use the word “being” more than the word “creature”.
I wasn’t really pointing my fingers on humans in particular, and the statement “the myth of religion has been debunked” is just fail, cause if it was really debunked you won’t see any religious people around anymore amrite ?
