Escape from city 17 - interview with director

Part two seems a dead thing :frowning: but this was an interesting interview

valve and them, in a non disclosure agreement.

my movie-sense is tingling :stuck_out_tongue:

I am kinda wondering if they have something to do with ep3.

^ that would be a happy day

could be. something to do with a trailer or something.

Possible live action trailer from the Purchase Brothers? DO WANT!

From their video descriptions on youtube:

“The Purchase Brothers are working on a ‘top secret’ feature film, delaying the release of Part Two.”

DO NOT WANT!

Think about it. If its live action, its not in game, and if its not in game, we’re not seeing what it will look like.

I’d prefer something else from them.

I agree. I’d rather see an in-game tech demo as a trailer for Episode 3, and a full-length movie from the Purchase Brothers.

I’d rather see both

In game trailers>Live action trailers always, no matter how well made the live action trailer is.
On a related note, Gameplay trailers>Cinematic Trailers.

Am I supposed to be happy or sad right now?

I think I’d actually be disappointed if they decided to make a Half-Life movie and started it from the escape instead of from Black Mesa itself… Or at least the invasion. And the way the guys get shot in the first ep was really Hollywood. Dramatic slow fall and stuff. That really bothers me :S

Well theres no way to know really, as Escape from City 17 was more of a one-off project. If they made a movie it could happen anytime within the Half-Life timeline, though it probably wouldn’t follow Gordon for long, or at all.

What would be really interesting is if they made a movie in between the games. We know a little about what happened then but to actually see some of the effects of the portal storms and the Seven Hour War would be awesome.

I don’t imagine them making a movie… but I do imagine them making a trailer of sorts for some of the half life games. I know ep 3 is currently being tested so surly it should be in the coming months and we can finally find out what the purchase brothers have to do with it if anything.

Oh, I didn’t mean instead of an in-game trailer, I mean alongside an in-game trailer that showed off the smexy updated Source engine. I couldn’t bear it if it was instead of an in-game trailer. :frowning:

would be an awesome e3 opener. Just sayin.

What I want is the trailer to start off looking like Left 4 Dead 3 (and making that look like a clear rush job), and then half way through they somehow switch, just to see everyones reactions.

I am looking forward to watch their video.
