Ok, so, did anyone actually nerdgasm when they realized the dev team took the time to stick their skins in the game? I know I did. That’s honestly one of my favorite things they’ve done with BM.
I was like “WHAT?! DUDE THAT’S AWESOME!” when I first saw that smirk on Kleiners face. Eli’s accent was great, but his voice sounded a bit too young, I dunno, maybe not raspy enough or something, or maybe I’m wrong.
I like to think that Eli became a chain smoker after getting his leg eaten. :3

He got the Robert Guillaume rhythm down pat, but he just doesn’t sound like Robert Guillaume.
I’ve actually been doing a small scout effort to find someone who can pull it off to revise the lines.

I’m half tempted to start a ‘risky mods’ thread where people can upload stuff that could potentially break, like sounds or higher res textures. Just for the sake of further tweaking.

The character model for Eli was great. His voice, however, made me do a quick double-take when I heard it. I expected the raspy voice that alot of us have become very familiar with after HL2+Episodes (especially the ending of two).
Regardless of that this remains one of the best games out there (and the best mod).
Alot of people are just upset because Half-Life is dear to them as a story and they expect perfection: a thing that doesn’t exist in the real world.
It would be Awesome if they could get the original Eli voice actor from HL2 to record the 2-3 lines he actually has in this game. Maybe with greenlight now, it could get done.
I agree the voice of Eli wasn’t what most were expecting, but kliener’s was impeccable.
Remember, both Eli and Kleiner is (are?) much younger here than in HL2! 
I’m not sure why this is surprising. Given Eli’s dialogue in Half-Life 2 (“Last time I saw you, I told you to go to the surface”), I thought it was pretty clear that the two in that spot were Eli and Kleiner. I’d have been surprised if they didn’t show up, that would have been quite a continuity flub.
I agree that the actor playing Eli does a good impression of the original, but while his mannerisms match, he just doesn’t sound like Eli. Dr. Kleiner, on the other hand, is a spot-on impression. Amazing! I wasn’t expecting the voice to be this accurate.
I was under the impression that the voice actor for Dr. Kleiner was the same for Half Life 2 and it’s following episodes? If it isn’t then that voice is scarily the same…
It is, but what does that have to do with the voice actor for him in Black Mesa?
I meant that I thought the voice actor for Kleiner in HL2 +1/2 was the same as in Black Mesa.

The BMS devs created all dialogue by themselves, nothing is borrowed.
They couldnt use valves sound, because that would be offending the copyright.
Or well, I guess they could’ve gotten the real actor to act for them, but that is very unlikely, isnt it?
