Edge Industries

Merry Christmas guys. It’s been awhile. Forgot my account info, guess I’m a newb again. Anyway, I’m working on a map and looking for some help. CS:S map, Mirrors Edge inspired, hence the name. I’ve sort of run out of inspiration about half way through. I’ll post a few screens, think you guys might be able to help me find some neat reference images?

All the best.

That looks pretty damn good. I never fully got into Mirrors Edge, but why not add an office complex on the above floor. To be quite honest, gotta play the map to see what we’re dealing with

I may post the map for people to run around in, but it may be awhile also. The textures and models are not optimized and the map file would be huge. In the mean time I’m not adverse to posting more screens.

For those who never got into Mirrors Edge, basically the idea is to make something sleek. A bright, clean, crisp map with dynamic lighting and modern architecture.

EDIT: The office idea isn’t bad. Gave me the idea of doing a few cubicles on the “Red Floor” in the map, similar to an older map I did, de_mist.

Needs moar red doors.

needs moar parkour

It might be a bit hard to work in, but how can it be Mirror’s Edge without some super bright white roofs to run around on?

Some updates on my map. A few new models. Some red doors. I’d like to work a rooftop in, but we’ll see if it’s congruent with a good layout.

you should stick pipes with valves in those holes cut into the ground that are covered by grates. Otherwise, why the hell would there be holes cut into the ground and then covered up if nothing is in them?

They were hidden for this compile. That and the block light brushes are cutting up the floor for some reason, even as details.

o.O

It’s nice, but add more big landmark-type architecture to make the map really stand out.
