E3 2011

The only way I’d consider that anything close to a good idea is if the controller is usable throughout the whole house, presumably while connected to the same network the WiiU is or something. Even so… a controller is a controller, a monitor is a monitor. The only time this should be changed is with portable hardware (i.e. psvita and 3ds) and that’s only because of space saving reasons, and this is not portable hardware… innovation in the wrong direction, if you ask me.

So wait, it IS a new console? Every article I just read said it isn’t. And yet, I’m looking at a picture of a new console. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS THING!?

The new Nitendo console is called the “iioweowwiiwiiowwiiowowoooyooowiiopeowwiiopeowiiweowweowooo”!

On madnation on the psvita they are doing the exact same track and details as in the show yesterday which leads me to believe it´s actually a video and not real play.

The most unergonomic controller since the Wii 1. Damn it nintendo I don’t want to play on an iPad, I’d get an iPad for that.

I don’t know if anyone here has played a gamecube game that would let you use the GBA as a controller but I have and I can say that having a second screen on the controller is pretty cool. It opens up a lot of possibilities.

Also you have to realize that this and a lot of gaming stuff now adays isn’t target at core gamers. The touch screen is another method for Nintendo to break down barriers and get non gamers into gaming.

Quality games don’t need fancy controllers or high definition or netflix on the same platform but these things are necessary for getting non-gamers. What happened to the days when games made the platform?

On another note, it appears they intend to still have the wii remote as a viable option for development of Wii U only games. Which in my opinion is a good thing because I like the concept of motion control games, its just there aren’t many good games that use motion control.

But the name Wii U is still fucking stupid.

Some people are calling it the WiiUseless.

That’s the funniest thing I have ever heard.
[COLOR=‘Black’]Herp the fucking derp

Wii U Wii U Wii U Wii U Wii U Wii U = fire engine (/truck)!!

On a more serious note, I’m praying that Nintendo wouldn’t make a Zelda game engine that looks this good and NOT make it in to a full game. This is the best video I’ve found so far, because the others cut away from the action too much (20 seconds = 7 seconds of video) or are people talking about the controller and not showing the graphics.

The first thing I thought when hearing the name.

D:

Am I the only one that thinks this Wii U thing sucks ass? Original wii is way better.

Am I the only one that thinks that is one of the stupidest statements I’ve heard in a while? Its not out yet, how the hell can you judge how fun it is until then?

Seriously? The whole concept is a gimmick. I doesn’t need to be out for me to understand the concept.

No, but it does take waiting for it to be out for you to know if its fun. You’ve never played a game with anything like that, you have no way of knowing whether it adds to the experience, especially if creative devs get involved. On top of that, the added graphical power and backwards compatibility with Wiimotes makes your statements all the more ignorant.

…hhippsttttterrrr…

If software devs want this could function exactly like a “wii hd”. It has full support for wii controllers.

I was disappointed by what Project Cafe was but I’m not going to say it sucks until I can play it or it’s out at least.

They showed me examples of what to do with the thing. I was not impressed. As for backwards compatibility, I’ll just use an original wii which will be several hundred cheaper, thank you very much. Graphical power, eh. Wii only ever really shines with casual shit and casual shit doesn’t need graphical power. Wii U does not look like an exception to that.
