Dog Figurine + Introduction Post :)

Hello all!,

Only been reading this forum for a short while but the people here seem to be quite nice. Hope I end up spending a lot of time here. To kick things off I thought some of you might want to see my Figure of Dog the I’ve been working on in the last few days.

Hope you enjoy  Sorry about the poor quality photo, not got my camera on hand had to use my ipod lol. There is still a load of work that needs to be done to it obviously aside form the other parts, still needs some polish. Let me know what you think!

Welcome, guy ^^

The figurine is really impressive, more effort than I’d be willing to give during my time  Can’t wait to see it completed.

you’d be surprised.

Based on the last two posts, you should be well aware now that you aren’t exactly in the nicest place.

Stick around for awhile, enjoy your stay, and be careful what you post…
…OR ELSE YOU’LL GET FLAMED TO FUCK

(btw totally saw these comments coming once the word “nice” hit the end of his sentence) lol.[/SIZE]

Many of us here hope we wouldn’t.

Anyways, welcome and stuff. A word of advice, don’t take things too seriously here.

That figurine is pretty fucking awesome. Finish it now. Also welcome! Just make sure you don’t take offense to small shit or you won’t last long here. There are a lot of pricks prowling these forums.

Thanks guys, Yeah I’m definately going to finish it. I hate it when people start something awesome and then don’t do anything with it after the first stage. More updates soon.

Oh and btw I put the nice comment in there just to see who would post first saying how apocalyptic this place is… noooooooo I’m scared! :terror:

Welcome. Figure is looking awesome :3 Keep us updated.

Here’s an update, got the other arm done tonight. Also have my camera with me so the pics will be a lot better

What materials are you using?

That is a very nice model so far!

Welcome

That model is pretty damn impressive; where did you start for it? How do you see Dog and manage to translate that in your mind into a buildable model?

Oh, and don’t forget to register your country in the thread in my sig :3

A combination of everything lol. So far I have used the following:

Cardboard
Tie Wraps / Cable Ties / Zip Ties
Bottle Caps
Powerade Bottle
Tin covered card (for the armour look)
Thick 5mm construction card (very strong)
Nuts and Bolts
Metal Tubing
String
Tape
Electrical Tape
Super Glue
Car Paint (gives the metallic look) brown, green, cream colours
Hairbands (for the cables)
Nails
Screws
Black miniture tacks for rivets

I’ve probably left something out lol

I started with the right arm because I wanted to test out the hairband idea to see if it stood up to being used as a support cable. It did so I carried on with the upper body, head then other arm now the lower body and legs to finish.

I’ve always looked at something and been able to imagine taking it apart and using it for other things. Here is a picture of my humble workshop

I just thought about what I had already got and what I needed and drew up some rough (and I mean rough) plans. Then went from there. I printed out a a picture of dog from google just so I could get the details right, but I got paint all over it after the first hour or so, so it wasn’t used much lol :stuck_out_tongue:

I think this project I planned the most for because I wanted him to be fully articulated. His arms and legs now move and his head has quite a bit of movement. I can detach almost everything and add and take away pieces if he gets damaged. I’m in the process of attaching chroma key green dowls to him to make him move then remove it in post production

Here is an update of him as he stands now, just have to attach the lower legs and finish off a few bits.

Awesome!

cant wait to see it finished

You better give it a heart when you’re finished.

So it can feel pain.

Fantastic, you’re obviously very talented

Oh and, sorry, but I have to ask

Did you get bored painting the back wall? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks all, got the legs done now just sorting out a few bits then going to post the finished product

Haha nah it was like that when I moved in :stuck_out_tongue:
