Doesn't start with Debian Stretch

When I try to start the game nothing is happening, no start-up screen, no error message, nothing.
I already tried upgrading to beta but this doesn’t change anything.

Have you looked in the linux sub-forum here, https://steamcommunity.com/app/362890/discussions/1/

or read this thread

Actually I wasn’t aware of being able to choose sub-forums on the right although I’m using steam for years now so I never had a look in the Linux sub-forum.
Thank you for pointing this out. I submitted a post there and hopefully it’ll lead to a solution. Running the shell-script mentioned there shows that there is something not working well:

./bms.sh libGL error: unable to load driver: i965_dri.so libGL error: driver pointer missing libGL error: failed to load driver: i965 libGL error: unable to load driver: i965_dri.so libGL error: driver pointer missing libGL error: failed to load driver: i965 libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 155 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 3 (X_GLXCreateContext) Value in failed request: 0x0 Serial number of failed request: 97 Current serial number in output stream: 98

To me it looks like there’s some (older) libGL that is failing to load the Intel DRI module. Anyway, just to let you know, BMS does actually start on Sarge, but I’m using nvidia drivers at the moment.

some roque LD64_LIBRARY_PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH perhaps?

Remove libstdc++.so.6 from Black Mesa’s bin directory and try it again (should be $HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Black Mesa/bin or something like that).
Seriously devs, don’t distribute that library.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
