Does the BMS soundtrack seem mysterious & scary enough?

Hey guys, I’m new. Anyways, I’ve been listening to the BMS soundtrack, and don’t get me wrong, it is great, it’s just, not as scary and mysterious and it was in HL1.

Here is what I mean,

BMS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvpLGFF2Pm0

HL1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fn2anyX1gk&feature=related
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmRO1RNuihA&feature=related
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urSDdiPrhb8&feature=related

You see, the HL1 soundtrack is actually way more scarier than the BMS one, it actually gives me the creeps :S where as BMS soundtrack seems more sad and bad-ass, but forgets the intensity of what the HL1 soundtrack provides.

Please note, I’m not saying the BMS soundtrack is bad, I’m just saying it should be remade into something more scary & mysterious. Then again, it is good to be different from the original.

Do you agree? Do you see where I’m coming from?

You’re saying the music isn’t bad, but it should be completely redone in a different style? That makes no fucking sense.

For what music we have seen, I think it fits the game perfect. It’s the perspective the devs see the game in, and it’s the feel they wanted to put into it. Their game, their ideas, and it’s fantastic they’re courageous enough to put their own spin into it.

So, no, I don’t see where you’re coming from.

Half-Life is Half-Life. Black Mesa is Black Mesa. Half-Life’s soundtrack fits perfectly Half-Life. Black Mesa’s soundtrack fits perfectly Black Mesa.

We hope.

Tell me you didn’t feel utterly floored whilst watching the trailer? It was fuckin’ rocking.

I can definitely see what you’re saying, but as far as I know the full soundtrack hasn’t been released. The original tracks you linked to are all very ambient (and are some of my favorites), while the tracks that have been released, while darker than the originals, are more reminiscent of faster, more intense tracks like Nuclear Mission Jam, Military Precision, and Adrenaline Horror.

How does that not make sense? Your saying that because I like the music, it should fit every single genre? Some songs are good, but sometimes are better in a different style. How does that not make sense?

As has already been stated, what we already have is more exciting/action oriented and what you posted from HL1 was all ambient stuff. What kinda comparison is that? Im sure there will be ambient tracks in BM as well, they just arent as interesting to release as media. So until we have everything and youre sure that the music is nothing like the original, you should keep your baseless judgement to yourself. Judge a book by its cover much? Wait until we get the final game, then you can complain if you must. :meh:

yes

No, that’s not what I said at all. Reading comprehension, do you have it? BM has multiple styles of music, just as HL did. In fact BM appears to have an even wider selection of genres then HL did, based on what we’ve seen so far. They aren’t the exact same songs, but they’re worthy in their own right.

It doesn’t make sense because it’s pointless. The music they have now is good and fitting. Why fix something that isn’t broken? When they built the Great Wall of China do you think someone came up and said “yeah, it’s good, but I think we could do better–let’s tear the whole thing down and start over”? No, they didn’t, because it’s retarded.

Yes, I’m comparing BM’s music to the mother fucking Great Wall of China.

I see what you did tharrr…

We only have about 6 tracks available as media. There are lots of tracks we haven’t heard. Don’t worry.

You can’t create a point of possible contention or simple debate and try to take on both sides of it, “Redhotchilipenis”. Fuckin’ pick your battles dude. Make a point and stick to it. They don’t have “badass” songs that also need re-written. hahah (I want my cake, I want my cake)

Additionally the available songs are quite old and have probably changed quite a bit.

There you go. Couldn’t have typed it better myself. (maybe italics)

I can’t wait to hear the ones we haven’t heard yet.

I love the theme, Anomalous Materials and the ending credits. Simply brilliant. Can’t wait to get the full experience.

fix’d

Your right.
