No, its not working for me.
i uninstall all, but always the same
dont do that
You don’t need ti uninstall any of your games, you can even keep Black Mesa installed. Just create a new account and you already have Black Mesa in your Library. Just start it and have fun.
worked for me.
OK, I found how to fix the problem as this or change the ID 109 does not work.
In gameinfo.txt I add “AdditionalContentId 420” (420 corespond has ID HL2).
Which gives:
“GameInfo”
{
game “Black Mesa”
title “BL@CK MESA”
title2 “”
developer "Black Mesa Team"
developer_url "https://www.blackmesasource.com/"
type "singleplayer_only"
icon "resource/bms"
nomodels 0
nocrosshair 1
hidden_maps
{
"test_speakers" 1
"test_hardware" 1
}
FileSystem
{
SteamAppId 218
AdditionalContentId 420
ToolsAppId 211
SearchPaths
{
Game |gameinfo_path|.
Game hl2
Game ep1
Game ep2
Game episodic
}
}
}
I say thank you “lochbrett” You gave me the idea to do this.
Now I can fully apreciate this wonderful Mod.
Thank you.
If I do that, The game disappears from Steam Library and I’m no longer able to start it.
Did not do the trick, either. Sorry
worked !! thanks
Works with another steam acccount. Just create -> ok -> ok -> ok, no reinstall necessary. You can Play black Mesa right away and all savegames work. I have NO IDEA why this works.
Arf! Sorry for you. Strange that works and various solutions that do not work for all. It should depend on regions / countries, i guess.
Ok, here is the solution to this problem, which should work for everyone (I hope).
- Have all files in their original state.
- Start Steam (Steam displays Black Mesa)
- Alter the following files in the BMS source directory (sourcemods/…)
a) steam.inf
b) gameinfo.txt
so that they look like this:
a)
appID=109
b) “GameInfo”
{
game “Black Mesa”
title “BL@CK MESA”
title2 “”
developer "Black Mesa Team"
developer_url "https://www.blackmesasource.com/"
type "singleplayer_only"
icon "resource/bms"
nomodels 0
nocrosshair 1
hidden_maps
{
"test_speakers" 1
"test_hardware" 1
}
FileSystem
{
SteamAppId 109
ToolsAppId 211
SearchPaths
{
Game |gameinfo_path|.
Game hl2
Game ep1
Game ep2
Game episodic
}
}
}
Basically you just replace the SteamAppId number with 109.
-
THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART: DO NOT CLOSE/RESTART STEAM. Just open the game from the Steam client afterwards. Bodies will stay.
If you restart Steam, the game will be gone and unlaunchable until you change the numbers back to the way they used to be. -
When you want to resume your game, BlackMesa will be gone from Steam. But don’t worry, just reset the numbers (causing the Game to appear once Steam is restarted), and then change them back to “109”.
Should work, let me know if this helped.
I only had to change the appID in steam.inf and it worked
Same, thanks!
In presenting all original files BMS (gameinfo.txt and steam.inf included), I tried the command “g_ragdoll_maxcount” and writing in the console eg “g_ragdoll_maxcount 50” (without the quotes) it worked.
It is sufficient, I think, add this command in the “autoexec.cfg” BMS.
The ID without changing anything, it worked.
Can you tell me if it works for you too.
i hope its fixed after greenlight release
for now it works with appid 109
Confirmed, changing inside steam.inf file default appID=218 to appID=109 enables gibbing creatures into bits (if enabled in Black Mesa options tab) and rag-doll. I didn’t touch gameinfo.txt.
For me, missing ragdoll and gib, probably is caused by Left4Dead - Low Violence, I purchased the game on the online auction website.
I recently reinstalled Black Mesa and ran into the same error.
Right at the beginning after the resonance cascade I burned some zombies with the magnesium torches.
They fall through the floor.
I tried tzp666’s solution and it worked once but a bit annoying.
The burning zombies didn’t fall through the ground they explode in pieces instead.
But after I closed and opened the game again they fell through the floor like before
So I just set all changed TXT and INF files back to default.
After that I opened the registry by type regedit into the command prompt of windows.
I looked for
HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Valve
and deleted the whole folder. After that I had to set the graphic settings in Black Mesa again but all other changes are still as I set them at start (keyboard, etc.)
Now the burning zombies don’t fall through the floor but also don’t explode into pieces.
They just fall as a dead briquette on the floor like they normally do in Half-Life 2.
I don’t know if the exploding corpse feature is a Black Mesa addition but I’m fine with the way dead bodies behave now.
So probably deleting the whole Valve folder in the registry will solve the problem.
ATTENTION!
I use an uncut german version of orange box Half-Life 2.
So if someone has a naturally cut version this won’t work.
But if someone has an uncut version and the same issue this probably work without creating a new account and messing around with text files.
