Discussion of possible Steam for Linux

Valve,a monopoly,Awesome :3

Indeed sir, well put.

Agreed, WINE does a pretty good job a lot of the time. There are things that don’t work but if you’re patient, most issues get sorted eventually. No dual boot for me either. Mind you, I’m not what you’d call a hardcore gamer these days… maybe that’s why I’m prepared to wait! :wink:

KVM on Fedora does a great job of virtualising Windows, so if I really do need to run some application under Windows, I use that. Never tried it for gaming though, only work related jobs.

As always, it comes down to what works for you I suppose…

Bad news…

At least he didn’t say, well we would never do that. They might make a steam for Linux in the future but I can imagine they have their hands full with mac atm.

[color=black]It won’t.

“There’s no Linux version that we’re working on right now.”

They’re not working on it because it’s already finished. :wink:

lol@optimistic fools

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
