Recently I started coming up with ideas for designing a house out of boredom. Since it was something I knew I’d never actually build, so I started making it bigger & adding more & more over-the-top expensive, impractical stuff to it. Sadly I’ve pretty much run out of junk to add to it asside from currently-impossible technology like teleporters & room-specific gravity control. I was thinking that if I do ever finish designing it I could make it a playable multiplayer map in hammer just for the hell of it. Although it seems I keep starting over from scratch any time I add a lot of things so it might never get done.
Some of the things I might add:
- lazy river moat
- inset porch behind drawbridge
- intercom system
- sauna
- guest bedrooms
- movie theatre
- fallout shelter
- no library, but a server room
- rooftop terrace
- balconies
- castle-style battlements
- helicopter landing pad
- hot tubs in the bathrooms
- olympic-sized swimming pool outdoor/indoor convertable with a retractable awning & curtian walls
- automated double pocket doors with movement prediction
- elevators & escalators instead of stairs
- waterfall connects from roof to pool or moat
- electrochromic smart windows
- hydronic radiant underfloor heating
- moving walkways
I’d love to hear some more ideas for things to add, althought I’d like to keep the house/castle/mansion/thing somewhat realistic structurally. Fictional things like portals could be added so long as they aren’t there solely to access otherwise inaccessable areas.
