Developer quotes on release and process

Yeah this is brilliant, thanks!

Awesome, thanks!

Sorry if im a bit late to post this, but this looks like it will be very informative to any newcomer who will take the time to read it, great work on gathering all this information!

The only concern I have is that odds are that a lot of newcomers won’t take the time to read this. :meh: But we can always link it everytime a stupid question comes up, so its good to have this around!

Even stickies dont get the attention they should. How will this thread be any different?

bullshit! on most forums stickies get the most attention

My brother was a sticky and I was practically ignored by my parents :’(

I’ve been occasionally checking in for a couple of years while waiting for the release, so thank you for putting this together & bringing me up to speed.

i hate how the people see the BM developer who works in their spare time and without getting paid as a developer who is employed in a games industry… its naturally that the release can be delayed …

Artlav, truly, thanks a lot to you for this Post. I thought that there are not answers or precise explanations from the developers, about their personal situation, basically becasue I couldn´t find it like you, but, I was wrong… completely wrong. You made me feel better reading all this. And now, again, I trust in the developers team and their work, with or without mistakes. And “hope” to see Black Mesa source some day. However, I think that the developers, should spend some time to makeing a Post, with regular information about their progress and personal situation, in some place or places where it could be find easily by all the people, even if the people still angry, because some people like me, when they read good reasons, could be more happy with the developres. In any case, I wolud like say sorry to the Developers team for my personal angry and impatience, but for some extrange reason, I thought that they were deceiveing me and for this, Sorry a lot to you guys.

And sorry for my english.

BM is like a super hot girl turning you on and then saying “sorry, not gonna happen, yet” :’(

So you basically just compared BM to menses. Great. Terrific…

I should post something obnoxious and obvious in caps with bold, italics, and have it underlined set at the highest possible size…but that would only get me banned and forum-raped.

But this post was very informative. All the new people don’t need to worry about gettin’ forum-fucked for dumb questions if they take the time to read it.

I’m gonna go speedrun through Half-Life now.

What the…

All this work to see some people rushing it like half-life in half an hour.

Great work can’t wait for release

These quotes should help a lot of noobs understand just how hard the developers’ work really is. Reading them saying what the issues are rather than guessing or telling themselves what they want to hear is a lot better.

being a game dev myself i know development usually takes far longer than you had expected at first. i’m sure BM is gonna be finished before i die, so i’m okay with that

Would be irony if a (but i hope not.) accident happens.

Great, now you just cursed the man. lol

what is it with people mistaking coincidence for irony

I was, still am and will be patient till it’s released, I was happy with the explanations of the developers. don’t see what’s all of the complaining about… I doubt there are any 90+ year old fans that might, well, miss it or anything o.0

Edit: That last bit might be a little cruel

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
