Darkness II

But seriously, so far, North’s Jackie is sub-par.
I still hope that it’s the temporary replacement. VA is usually done last.

I was very disappointed when I heard they were doing cel shading.
Now that I hear Jackie is voiced by North…

I really can’t see how this will even come close to being as good as the original Darkness.

Lol. They think if they got Mike Patton and Paul Jenkins, they can get away with everything.
At least gameplay looks promising… then they shove this this teaser in the end.

Cell Shading = Excuse not to put any effort into how a game looks

Jokes aside, I don’t think so.
This is just a case of being pretentious cretins who don’t seem to have a clue what they are doing.

Nolan North’s Jackie seems more exaggerated mob boss guy. I guess it fits more with this game’s over the top style.

Nope.

Nope.

Nope.

It’s actually quite the opposite. Heavy stylization just means more work on the drawing board. You have to actually think to make a game look unique. The problem here is, with the Darkness II, they didn’t. It just looks like regular realistic models with outlines and smudged textures. Like I said, it’s got the same problem as Borderlands. It doesn’t take advantage of it’s style at all.

More like boring and generic peter parker crap… since when did a mob boss guys start to have a Jersey Shore accent?
But seriously, it’s inconsistent and lame. There’s absolutely nothing about his voice that clings.

When he came from there?

:stuck_out_tongue: I see what you mean, but still.

Brooklyn > Jersey.

Ethiopia > Jersey

EVERYTHING > Jersey

All I hope for is that it was just teaser nolan north was in.
Well, if he really is in the game though, I guess I’ll just pass.

The main villain is Victor Velente and he comes from the Brotherhood.

Also lolzers:

Nolan North is unconfirmed. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAA… but oh wait:

It looks hilariously awful and cheesy. And not even the graphics themselves, but the locales and the outfits.
May look good? High res it. Jagginess, broken textures… But hey, those pants actually look hand-painted.
Also, why is everything so fucking bright? I’m pretty sure the game isn’t called the Brightness?

I live in Jersey

ey, it actually doesn’t look all that bad in motion.

It’s also a pretty bad quality vid though.

Those stripper’s faces are ugly as heck and are as badly modelled as humanely possible.

FUCKING HAIR

Interior looks great, sans those stupid fucking square dishes… as soon as I saw outside footage, I sighed.

Also, wtf is that shiny purple thing that swirls around after the kill?
Fucking gay.

That last bit in the dark alleyway looked awesome.
If only not for this cel-shaded monstrosity.

One can conclude that the atmosphere of the first Darkness… is gone.
Every motherfucking thing is comical.

P.S. Gametrailers updated.

They look like they lifted an embargo on it.
The voice acting Nolan North is doing is so fucking not Jackie.

Some of the things that guy said, makes me conclude that giving the license to DE was the worst mistake possible.
Quick glimpse at comments made me puke.
I love how in the story interview he talks about action.

From what they’ve shown, shit got dumbed down 100%.
Like that ‘Essence’ thing granted for kills. Are they fucking retarded?
That ‘Jenny, is that you?’ part was so awkwardly trivial and unconvincing.

Demon arms look like shit, they look like a pair of thin intestines… there’s hundreds of things that get a -1.

Agree. I hate when games have that gimmicky shit where glowing orbs (or in this case purple orbs) pop up after every kill which you have to collect.
It’s okay in maybe arcade games but in games that are supposed to be serious it just ruins the immersion.

I kinda get what they’re going for here.

I can’t really get mad about inaccuracies or lack of consistency to the first game anymore, because they’re obviously going for something completely different.

ps: I can’t really see what’s wrong with the hooker’s faces, but yeah. That hair pisses me the fuck off. There are so many better ways to do it that would actually fit their style BETTER.
I also fail to see exactly got dumbed down, only a more in depth (and a bit more arcadey) combat system. I’m pretty sure he was dodging story related questions because it’s too early to get real into it.

I’m not gonna get mad. I’ve had enough of getting mad. I’m just gonna take it for what it is, because it’s not Starbreeze’s darkness. Whether or not that’s a good thing I’ll find out when I play the demo myself.

I’m merely listing things that I’m not looking for in the Darkness game…
Points-awarding mechanic is one of them.

And I’m mostly fine with how the graphic engine looks.
I’m more pissed off with arcade elements that are being hinted at.

Also, the north american mentality of ‘wow’ and ‘badass’ (+ ‘we gotta have this in’) really gets on my nerves.
I’m more pissed at the retarded people rather than at the game itself.

E3 trailer.

:expressionless:

But really, wtf is this oversaturated cartoon? And why does it have Darkness logo at the end?
So the main protagonist turned out to be a fucking circus freak clown. Great.

It’s like the first game never existed.
So yeah, you may as well fap at this shit.
