Why New York of all places?
because Tokyo was already taken (by Godzilla)
Entertainment companies really, really hate New-Yorkers.
Better question
Why new york again
Why does it matter? Its not like they didn’t just arbitrarily pick a city. Would Boston make the game any different? No not really, plays out the same way both for story and gameplay.
Come on you guys are seriously complaining about the city they chose to put it in?
THIS GAEM BASE IN AMERICA IT SUZCX CUZ AMRICANZ R DUMBD
Actually my complaints are more along the lines of “why a city again” unless A. it isn’t true or B. they are drastically changing it in some way.
[COLOR=‘Black’]And I’m an American so I am not opposed to american locations in games and generally don’t give a shit as long as it’s interesting
From the sound of it, it may end up more open than Crysis 2, but with the lateral freedom of Crysis 1 sacrificed for vertical freedom. With the Jungle/ city fusion, it seems fitting.
I am a bit upset there’s no new suit though so far. I know their wouldn’t be one, but I’d hate for the Crysis 2 nanosuit to be the definitive nanosuit. It’s my favorite out of the two, but It doesn’t feel right to leave it the same again. I’m starting to see the Nanosuits like time lords or something. They gotta be different.
Relax, all the details haven’t been out yet. More will be out at “April 16” the report says.
As long as we get actual vertical freedom this time instead of at just a couple times in the game. I really felt the climbing mechanics were underused - I would’ve loved to been able to climb a huge building and scout out an enemy camp/emplacement down below and plan my attack, and jump down from it and land, cracking the ground, like they showed in early videos. That’s probably too much to ask but I would like having a city setting if they actually had stuff like that.
Hunger Games anyone?
A futuristic bow? What’s the point when guns exist?
My guess is to hunt raptors… It’s ea - expect anything…
More powerful? Explosive, poison arrows? We don’t even know when Crysis 2 plays. Maybe the aliens wiped everything out and there aren’t many weapons left?
I thought New York was safe at the end of Crysis 2?
I want to see how it turned into a jungle
Maybe EA came and said :" hai guise, it would be kewl if crysis3 has a bow !"
I mean its obviously one of the weapons of the game, Its purpose would be stealth kill ? The sound a compound bow like that does in reality is way lower than any silenced gun.
even the strongest compound bow is still less deadly than any firearm
You can tie a grenade to an arrow, you can’t tie a grenade to a bullet.
Or you could just get a grenade launcher.
Who cares?
Crysis as a franchise tries too hard to be relevant, even if the games aren’t bad individually, they’re just not that great to begin with.
If Crysis 3 wants once again to be a totally different game from its predecessors in its search to become relevant, so be it, might the funniest of the 3 after all.
