Any idea if the game use raw input? If so you’ll want to keep that at ‘1’.
In the leak the tilda worked.

Wouldn’t you still have to put “-console” at the end?
I mean for the demo, not the leak.
Tried that, didn’t work in the demo unfortunately.
I guess it’s because it’s multiplayer or something.
Also, I DO want to turn the Motion blur DOWN but not completely off. I had it set pretty high in crysis 1 because it smoothed out the frames a bit and made 25 fps feel much higher. Now that I am running Crysis 2 at about 60, it all just seems streaked.
Hardcore is the highest. On Advanced I can get up to 60 fps with my comp, on Hardcore I can’t break 35. But as far as I can tell, Hardcore just adds a buttload of HDR/bloom and motion blur. Maybe increases AA or textures a little bit. But overall it was pretty distracting to be honest, which is why I’m sticking with Advanced.
as soon as i stepped into the boots of the magical nanosuit (after pressing the START button, which then brought me to windows, and after making additional 2 accounts so i can login into atleast one), and used the server browser to find a “session” which wasn’t full or bugged (as in, the game won’t start although the “lobby” is full) I was finally ready to play some games
boy I was wrong
The first “session” was a 6vs6 match in which I believe was completely filled with skilled Call of Duty players which can’t understand the concept of the suit. If you sprint for too long, it will drain your energy and you’re dead in the water. If you use any armour power, even if you stand still, will drain your energy and bring you closer to your death.
They also thought melee is a one hit kill. ha.
During my 10 minute gameplay i managed to pull off a killstreak of 20, massacred the opposing team which consisted of 4 invisible hipfire heroes and 2 machine gunners which basically ran into your face spraying bullets all around.
oh joy.
There is no absolute fun in play this goddamn game. It feels like every goddamn opponent has some form of retardation and is completely crippled and can not engage more than one target without him having his ass hanging everywhere to be shot at. It started to feel like I am playing a very lousy match with very crappy AI bots.
Fantastic.
Then I had to take a break because I was blinded by the huge ammount of goddamn realistic bloom which the magical nanosuit can not filter (seriously, for what good about the nanosuit if you can’t see shit, you might as well wipe your ass with it) And it also suffers from freezing and stuttering, which may be the case of me having a bad computer, or this pc isn’t a console, i don’t know which is worse.
After downloading a configuration tool, enhanced my FOV, disabled all the postprocessing effects, I was finally ready for some stutter-free explosion, teamwork, action matches
Wrong again
In between raging about invisible corner faggots and sniper maniacs I delightfully punctured the throats of other sneaking opponents, detonated foes into oblivion, blinded couple of corridor monsters and ripped off a few machine guns from their posts. The game isn’t something very special really, but this might be early to judge it since there are only 2 maps and limited ammount of attachments and “perks” you can use
Speaking of perks, there are killstreaks, but don’t worry, you don’t get “killstreaks” like you did in call of duty, but instead, for each “tagged” opponent, you must pick up his dogtag in order to call in a “maximum radar” or some other killbullshit
All in all, if you enjoy call of duty, this game is for you.
All of that shit are the players’ faults. I’ve had much more pleasant experiences with the demo.
Also why in the flying fuckshit is “fuzzy” censored in chat? Asshole is fine. I think shit is allowed. Fuck is out though. But Fuzzy? FUZZY?
Germans, man.
computar is also censored for some reason
wait what
get the hell out of here
the multiplayer is kind of like call of duty meets halo. and since it’s gamespy, i’m going nowhere near it on my PC. i played the demo on the 360. i played the leak on the PC. im buying it on both platforms, PC for single player maxed out DX11, and 360 for the call of duty like game-play that all my friends IRL seem to love. i’m still baffled with why they went with gamespy again.
To make it short: I am disappointed! Graphics aren’t as good as in Crysis 1 and the gameplay? I don’t know…don’t like it!
Also they should have released a SP demo, instead of a MP demo!
It’s well known in germany that ‘computar’ is an abbreviation of ‘com play u tarrorest’, so it’s completely justifiable that they’ve omitted this kind of politically incorrect slang.
GOOD JOB CRYTEK.
To turn of the annoying glow make a shortcut of the .exe and add this at the end of the target line:
+r_glow=0
Also the game looks better on the lowest setting (Gamer) because it’s a lot less blurry
check OP for configuration utility + other commands
Crysis 2 sux ballz! I really had some hope for this. But its flaw after flaw after flaw. Might aswell spread some vaseline on your monitor theres so much bloom. I’m uterly disgusted!
fix’d
I’m interested in the SP anyway.
I agree. Same feeling I had - the “sprint into your face and melee you 1HKO!!” types were in every server I played in. Likewise with people sprinting everywhere (made it easy to wait for the moment they stopped sprinting from running out of energy, then pick 'em off, but still…). On that note, the game feels very clumsy when you get close to another player - I almost can’t tell if there’s player clipping, i.e. I could swear someone sprinted at me and went right through me, because they surely didn’t go to my left or right or over my head or slide under my feet. Hmm…
Multiplayer = Call of Crysis 2 - Alien Warfare. Hopeful for the single player component, and I’ll have to try playing on Advanced later (since hardcore is so full of bloom).
Yeah I hate the sprint+melee jerks. They just sprint at you and somehow disappear, and by the time you can find them they’ve already beat you to death. It does seem somehow clumsy. But it could also just be lag. With the kill cam, its pretty annoying to watch yourself die a second after he finishes firing somewhere within 10 feet of your body.
Agreed, the kill cam isn’t very good. It seems to show you the exact moment of your death, and nothing before, serving no true purpose but to remind you of the embarrassing death you just had (in case, you know, you’ve somehow forgotten about it already) instead of giving you any idea of where the opponent came from and how they killed you.
This MP is unstable as crap, I can play 1 round max, then it will crash… All the time -_-
wow, this demo sucks.
lots of bugs, ugly graphics, laggy, stupid/too simple options menu + it’s just a CoD clone.
I expected more.
