I hate you people judging Crysis 2 by the demo. It doesn’t represent the quality of the final game.
if they can’t be arsed about making the demo correctly, then i won’t be suprised how the “final game” will look when it’s released
I’m hoping they have the same option in the full game as they did for Crysis 1, i.e. you can change the suit voice between male and female. The guy’s voice kinda pisses me off, especially as much as you toggle suit modes and nanovision.
Many companies say they don’t bother releasing a demo because it takes time/money/resources to do it. If Crytek decided to dedicate resources to a demo, they at least should have done it RIGHT, rather than half-assed. Unless this build is from 6 months ago… because they released the demo only a few weeks before the actual release, and believe me, besides MAYBE for electronic distribution, they aren’t changing anything between now and release for the DVD-buying folks. Those discs have probably been burned and shipped.
Considering that Portal 2 is at the playtesters from Sony and Microsoft at this time. You are right.
I doubt that, they’ve probably been working 60-80 hour weeks.
That’s illegal in germany HAHAHA. Poor Crytek doesn’t have the power of Valve Time.
yep, sucks, consolized piece of shit. ^^
Isn’t it kinda wrong to think that C2 is a console port? The Cryengine 3 is based on a pc exclusive engine and I think it won’t look more bad than the Cryengine 2. Just wait until we get the full graphics option menu.
You would think so, but the PC demo begins with “Press Start”, so it makes me wonder.
:hmph:
A demo is supposed to be almost the best the game has to offer, providing a glimpse at what fun could be had by buying the full game. If they want to call it a beta, do so, but if they call it a demo we have every right to consider it the quality of the final game, because that is what it should be.
You have to remember that, for whatever reason, Crytek wasn’t originally going to release the demo for PC. The console-port demo may be a reflection of this, and not the actual product.
At the very least I can pretend this argument makes sense until the game is released. :’(
Also, Melee defaulting to ‘V’ and the fact that my extra mouse buttons aren’t registering as buttons are nonsensical.
Whats the difference between Gamer > Advanced > Hardcore, I’m having a hardtime appreciating the subtleness of the changes.
Also how sharp is AA to you, I would of expected drops in framerate with more than 2x (highest I could get upto in Crysis1 before framerate drops), but the edges, and likewise the framerate, is smooth
I originally thought that people who pre-ordered would get to play a beta multiplayer. But that didn’t materialize and we got a demo of the multiplayer instead. It probably is a beta, but they released it as a “demo” to reach a larger audience before release.
Their mistake then, we still have the right to tear the game apart if they release a bad demo.
Lol, if a demo isn’t supposed to represent what a game is then whats the fucking point? Did you take your derp pills today?
…the quality… It’s an important noun and I didn’t put it in there for no reason.
Console demo ported to pc… that’s why it blows chunks… now please… Keep your pants on until the final game is released.
Then you can shit your pants all you want about how much it doesn’t live up to your standards and not theirs.
Unless Crytek proves me wrong in the final game, so far this game has a been a slap in the face of the loyal PC fans.
loyal?
Everyone throws that word around so much. “hurr durr im a loyal fan lolololol”. But then after that all I see is bitching and cursing at the people they claim to be “loyal” to. If you ask me, everyone deserves a slap in the face or at least some sort of fucking wake up call.
That being said, I’m sure the demo is the portiest it will get. Even the leak felt better than the demo.
The “press start to begin” still annoys me though. It really can’t be that hard to change, but they never fucking change it.
It doesn’t really matter, Battlefield 3 has stolen my heart. I’ll wave at Crysis 2 as it passes by.
For god’s sakes, if Crytek did something to make you not care about the game (No DX11 on release, Press Start at menu) then just ignore it and go play something else. Don’t PIRATE it to say “I really really want to play this game but I’m cheap and want to make a statement”. Show that those sort of things genuinely make the game less appealing. If a hooker were presented to you with blood covering her dress, you wouldn’t go “BLEUGH! Why is she covered in blood? This is disgusting, this is a travesty! I’ll take her for FREE!” You would just walk away in disgust and find a better one.
Moral of the story: Always use a condom when playing Crysis 2.
The only thing that would drive me to buy the game right now is the possibility of a better mod scene than Crysis 1.
A quick visit to the CE3 editor and I’ve found it’s a lot more user friendly than CE2’s.
