Crowbar Impact Sound Fix

With this small script change the crowbar will make the swing sound combined with hitting objects/surfaces, just like HL2’s crowbar.

note: Backup your Black Mesa directory before installing mods/fixes to revert changes later
Install: extract to Steam folder.

I don’t think a pic is going to help, sound?

Are you seriously telling me you can’t see the difference?

Wow, I never realised in BM it entirely removed the swing animation when hitting things.

I like this idea. I’ve downloaded it, but I’ll be honest - I’m stupid and have no idea how to use it.
I assume I take the file, follow the same ‘path’ as it is in it’s own folder except using my steam folders, and then put the file in?

yeah you’re extracting it into your steam folder, it’ll overwrite the already existing .txt file in the black mesa folder

Installed!

Very nice it’s back!

Thanks for the confirmation.

Working like a charm. Such a simple change, but I really really do enjoy it. I never thought about it until this was posted, so I went around smacking things before I inserted the file, and it just sounded weird with no swing sond.
Thanks for the great contribution.

I know they normally don’t add or change sounds, but I hope they make an exception for this…

It’s not a sound, it’s a script  Basically a bug fix that will be fixed in the upcoming patch anyway, if they have noticed it.

Awesome nonetheless though

I think I’m going to make a compilation of mods and fixes for my second playthrough, when Xen is released, which will include this if it isn’t in the patch.

I run most of the unofficial mods to BM
