The gargantua was only supposed to be in the beginning of HL2, while riding the train to C17 you’d see a garg on the tracks being run over by a razor train.
It might’ve been cool but it isn’t really worth the effort.

Didn’t Gman destroy black mesa at the end of hl1? That could be why some creatures might not be around in hl2.
No, that was non-canon.
No, it wasn’t.
I thought it was non-canon as well. How do you know it’s canon?
Because Black Mesa being destroyed was confirmed by Valve as true, because it ensured that they wouldn’t have to go back there, thus avoiding ‘creative suicide.’
Wait, we’re talking about the nuke, right?
yeah. At the end of blue shift, and opposing force especially, G-man destroys black mesa. It doesnt mention anything about gman destroying it in HL1
The creatures of HL1 are still around during HL2 (except the controllers and grunts), Valve has said so, they were just cut for gameplay reasons.
Episode 3 better be some pretty hot shit to compensate for HL2’s severe lack of Xenian (?) creatures.
I remember reading that the bullsquids canablised themselves because they ran out of food.
Did you read that on a forum, because it’s complete bollocks.
The Combine found out how to use head-crabs as weapons, and they put Vortigaunts to work as slaves. And they never really found a need to kill of the barnacles, guess they thought it would control the pest problem?
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
