Bump

bump, i cant continue

It appears that the file “client.dll” is damaged / corrupted, please download WinMD5 from this website:

https://www.winmd5.com/

It will allow you to check the file “client.dll” located in “…\SteamApps\sourcemods\BMS\bin” on its MD5 checksum.

Just click “Browse…” and then open the previously mentioned folder, selecting the “client.dll” file and clicking “OK”, afterwards.

You will then see that the contents of the text box “Current file MD5 checksum value:” have changed to (apparently) random numbers and letters - copy and paste these into your next post, please.

For reference, this is the MD5 checksum of a working “client.dll”:

56fbb8bf247c4411232f40fdcf54b092

The file’s size (in bytes) should be:

Size: 6,09 MB (6.386.688 Bytes)
Size on Volume: 6,09 MB (6.389.760 Bytes)

I doubt the file is corrupted, it looks more like a yet another report about issue that had been reported 100500 times so far, with each reporter (a) failing to use forum search before posting a report and (b) failing to follow reporting guidelines in the proper way.

The only “solutions” known so far for this bug (except for sitting doing nothing waiting while BM devs would release an updated version with bugfixes) are:

 1. Switch “shadows” details to “Meduim” or “Low” and try playing with the screen resolution used to play the game. Some people report that they were able to pass this place without crash when set their game to use windowed 1280x720 mode, other report that using 4:3 resolutions had been the saving grace for them (i.e. try setting resolution to something like 1024x768 or 1600x1200).

 2. Try switching off flashlight and descend down the hole without ever turning it on. There were reports about flashlight being a thing that actually trigger this crash.

Thank you so much for your help, the 1200x720 windowed mode resolution did it for me.
