Really need some help with this, all that’s happening when I try to extract is that it fails to complete every time, whether it be corrupted files, error codes (1 AND 2) or data errors (lots of them). It seems as though I’ve tried every option available to me (all mirrors, winrar, 7zip - I’ve even uninstalled steam and reinstalled) and nothing seems to be working.
Could anyone shed some light on the situation for a fix, or should I just wait until steam releases it.

Have you tried renaming it or doing a manual install?
Manual Install:
Open the 7zip file with WinRAR or any similar program, copy its contents to:
…\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\BMS
Done both already, always same select files coming back as data errors. Trying to run the game makes the first loading screen appear with hl2.exe crashing shortly thereafter
i have the same problem.maybe its for downloaded archive.did you try another mirrors?first i download it from gamefront and get curupted files message just like u says.now im downloading from a site called “cyberlocker”.its not finished yet.i let u know if its working or not after it done or i dont

is that gamefront? because i did and the archive file have to many corrupt files.
i cant understand the problem so somebody pls help us.

son of a… it works.it works man. all u need 2 do is download another archive from another mirror.i put the address of my archive in text file in attachments.
after u download it put it in right place i mean ((“C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\BMS”))
start the steam and log in.then download the source sdk 2007 in tools menu.
after that u can run blackmesa source with no problem at all^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

nope hasnt worked for me, for some reason the download page states that the total size of the download to be 3.8gigs, but every mirror and torrent retry i’ve done only yields me 3.07 or so gigs. perhaps herein lies the problem, but i havnt the foggiest of how to remedy this.

How does one make bittorrent redownload only corrupted parts of a 7z archive? i wasn’t aware bitT had that capability.
It is a native capability of bittorrent protocol cause it splits all the files you download into small parts and checks integrity of each part when you download it. You should place your BlackMesa.7z into a folder named BlackMesa and then instruct your torrent client to download BlackMesa.torrent to this folder. It would notice that you already have a file named BlackMesa.7z there and would initiate a so-called parts hash check procedure. Then it would proceed with downloading only the parts that don’t pass hash checksum check. Google on uTorrent user guide and usage patterns if you want more details, it is really a bit offtopic for BM bug reporting forum.
i finish the game it is not complet.

welp after approximately 4 days of retry after retry of several MBs of hashfails, torrent finally came through and downloaded a good BM file without any pesky data errors.
not sure if me changing from vanilla bittorrent client to utorrent changed anything, but with utorrent; removing the torrent file from the client and then restarting until it finally fixed the files worked for me.
