Congratulations on the Vaporware award

Not really the best Christmas present out there, but it is an extra award to put up on the website
Vaporware 2009

Bah, it should have made 1st place.

It’s all politics.

Ought to put that on the front page after release.
Something of a Dewey Beats Truman moment.

It’s interesting that a free mod even makes this list based on the sheer number of mods that never even get off the ground.

Well, the editors are admitting that it is nearly on the same level as Starcraft II as far as community anticipation.

The devs should take that as a compliment.

It also reveals just how many people are waiting for the mod to come out…

Ummmm… way to go?
Well, at least Black Mesa Source will get SOME award this year.

I’m not sure how many people nominated it; But I made sure send in a nomination to Wired the second they made nomination calls.

My email sounded a lot like their description

Which I guess is just a regurgitation of the website info and their Frankenstein simile.

…lmfao

I consider Vaporware to be a product that you hear minimal information about. TF2, HL2, DNF, all Vaporware candidates at one time or another.

However, the sheer amount of pics, videos, and all media released for this game keeps it out of my Vaproware category. It’s just a project in the works right now.

It’s a fail article from Wired, but at least is a “good” press for the mod.

Will be funny to see the same Wired publishing in 2010 an article about how badass is BM, after the release.

Or how crappy it is.

That’s the spirit.

Congrats and well done!

Well… Another (not-so-desired) award to put on the wiki awards page.

make it so.

ok, unexpected gif made catz lol rather nice. =D

Pfft. I agree with ThreeGoatPig, Black Mesa cannot be considered vaporware.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
