RARELY!
So some of you may see a slight increase in activity in the developer area of the forums if not other areas as well. After posting their were jobs available on the FB page, the team got slammed with applicants. :s nicker:

Considered throwing my hat into the ring in that regard, but I’ve mostly mapped single player and I haven’t actually published any of my work. I have been working in Hammer basically since HL2 shipped, though.
I guess that would be a clear lesson in not only investing time in what you love to do, but don’t be afraid to put it out there on the web and toot your horn about it. You never know when the right person would take an interest.
I’m actually trying to get a few of my maps for my mod polished up to a releasable state, but I have to sort some things out on the tools end because after moving my Steam stuff to a new computer my editor’s compiler broke. I’ll probably migrate back to the old computer to make the most of my laptop’s monitor being used in conjunction with my bigger monitor for my new desktop. (Yay, two screen development environment!)
Filepath to Steam exactly the same? Path to the compile tools could be broken in Hammer.
I changed Steam from C:\ to I:, so yeah, a lot was broken. Hence why I’m reinstalling stuff on the old computer.
Sorry guys, when the Xen’s part will be released?
When its done! Please don’t ask again.
A simple search (hell, two pages back in this very thread) would have showed that it’s been asked dozens of times, and the devs aren’t at liberty to give an answer due to restrictions imposed by the Greenlight NDA w/ Valve, nor do they want to give a date until they are 100% sure they can meet it. Promising a release date they may not be able to meet will only serve to disappoint you and make people complain. See: Q4 2009. “When it’s done,” is the only answer you will receive upon asking, so don’t ask, you’ll be told.
You guy’s shouldn’t get so mad. Yes it’s annoying when people ask that question but as long as you answer them they know, I wouldn’t get mad unless they keep asking over and over again or something like that.
That’s not anger, not bluntness. I don’t mind answering the same question over and over, but when the answer can be found with less than 2 minutes of searching, it’s a tad ridiculous.
well, honestly, aren’t forums there to eliminate the hassle of looking for things yourself?
to an extent, at least
…so is the search function…
Exactly, I can’t count how many times I’ve been answering the same questions over and over.
No one is twisting your arm to answer, guys. Relax, this is all comparable to state of the forum from before the first-half of Black Mesa was released. Eventually, complaining becomes as annoying as redundant questions.
With that said, my own tip to dealing with the facade of overly asked questions is to get notepad and make use of the copy/paste function. Answer it once perfectly, and paste it where necessary.
Well, now we know the Second Half will be released through Steam. When it does, you’ll probably see it plastered all over the Store front page.

Oh btw… new website is up.
:Loves Josh:
Yeah, it’s really fantastic! Way to go Hubi!
On a slightly related note, BM is apparently being reviewed by the ESRB, hence the “RP” sticker on the homepage. That’s gotta be good news, right?
Oh, wow. The new front page is awesome.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
