Community Project - Xen Fan-made remake

Have you tried it with BM’s Xen textures instead of the brown and gray HD (HL: S, i think) Xen ground texture?

Black mesa has only one xen texure, that is cave in the beginning in my map. The rest of textures are not from half life source, they’re even better. They were made by user vlad16051997

I had much problem with adding Hev scientists model to Black mesa and making transition from lambda core last map to my xen map because after decompiling map is messed up, few doors are white now with floating colors and are unenterable. I’m not very good in bug fixing in maps so I don’t think I can handle it so easily.

So I tell again If you can make these two things I will be really glad because I can’t handle it myself :

Questions:

  • are you using any HL: S assets?
  • have you implemented in your map the low gravity?
  • No I made everything myself from scratch ( besides these ugly flying platforms which will definetly be changed into the ones I make but I changed texture of it so they’re not even the same anymore )
  • Yes I did. New gravity is implemented.

I tried your map…and died 2-3 times because of fall dmg:

I 'm not used to use the high jump module.

Sooner or later I’ll upload a video on youtube with better res than yours.

Your maps could use a bit more optimization even though I understand that you can’t use area portals.

Work on the SB, blen it with some fog.

You died 3 times by fall damage ? I already fixed jumping and changed gravity so you shouldn’t encounter these problems. If this is because I did something wrong with map then not good but if it’s your fault then there’s nothing I can do.

I just jumped around the whole map with the Long Jump Module, it was so fun

I tried making hev scientist from gordon freeman model but when I put models and materials to my BMS folder, it’s visible in hammer as mdl file but when I spawn this model it doesn’t have gordon graphic, like it’s an air. The model appears on map but when I hit it with crowbar the blood comes from nowhere because model is not visible. Anyone have ideas ?

It must be blood to plastic I guess because the HEV is hard

Yes. If anyone can provide me any model with details how to make it usable in hammer, I would be able to continue my work on beta bm_c4a1.

I’m still working on new updates. I don’t need hev guys anymore, I got the graphic.

You probably put it in the wrong directory. You can’t just put it anywhere in the /models folder. You have to put it in the same place that it originally was.

I was actually asking what you ment with Gordon graphic.
I’m confused do you mean model or skin?
