Combine Destiny 2

What :expressionless:

He’s talking about the movie “Suburban Commando”

Played the first combine destiny and really didn’t enjoyed it, the friendly IA was really buggy and the story made no sense at all. Why would the combine sent just 3 guys in a mission like that? Plus the radio chat with the commander felt too human and informal.

It wasn’t just three guys, it was just that you were one of a few teams sent in the reactivate the facility; they didn’t know it was infested. I do agree with radio chat being too human, though.

Guys, pretty much everything you’ve been complaining about in the original has been addressed by the devs, so stop whining and focus on the sequel, which is what this thread was made for.

Is someone bringing all this to their [the devs’] attention?

I played the first one, it was alright.

I think they should have made you a Combine Elite though, to differentiate you from all the other Combine Soldiers that are under your command and who die, meanwhile you cut a path through everything.

If you get to play as a Combine Elite you have to remember to make the view One-Dimensional

A line? :brow:

I don’t really see the difference from playing as a Private in Call of Duty, a Corporal in Opposing Force, a scientist in Half-Life, etc. It’s a normal guy who gets a lot done.

And there’s a reason to make radio chat informal. Sure, it breaks a little immersion but I would honestly get tired fast of over-formalized quotes like
“Necrotics infested two gateways down, dispense jurisdiction code ten.” or COD-style:
“We have a visual on two-fox-niner, danger close. Requesting an a-sat to light up that signal.”

Like the others, I’m reserving judgement for when I see it. I do remember the first one being kind of okay, but I have actually seen some mods playing as Civil Protection that manage a much more interesting story, and even some good characters.

Yes. Everything that was wrong with the mod, that you are all needlessly describing here, has already been addressed on the CD2 forums, and the devs are usually already aware of them.

Just go check out the forums. There’s just the slightest trickle of activity, but there’s plenty of old threads to learn about the mod.

I still really want to know what the GIG (a new grenade of some sort) is. I’m betting one of the G’s stands for gravity.

Man, I can’t stand the grenade size. It rolls only on one side. I rather have the round ones that roll everywhere instead of on it’s side

You mean shape, not size.
Why do you need a grenade to roll everywhere?

So you can have it unexpectedly roll back towards your direction and die. :retard:

Well, The grenades I’ve messed with in like COD Modern Warfare 2 seem more my style. I just like them kind of grenades

Way to digress, guys. Back on topic.

I’ve played the first one but it was lacking somethings like combine wise. Hope they did better in the second one

Must… finish… first… one…

Why? You just have to run like crazy down a narrow canyon with a dozen fast zombies on your heels until you reach a dropship. Apparently they thought you valuable enough to send half a dozen elites to rescue you and your squadmates.

Now that I play it again, it was actually combine like. But the whole story about it was bit trash.
