The states will certainly diminish in the coming century, but whether or not it collapses will depend on who is sitting in the big chair in the years to come.
Republicans? You are all doomed.
Democrats? Not as much doomed, but still pretty fucked unless you get a genius president. Obama is pretty smart, but he was handed a big bag of shit on his first day of office and it is a near impossible task to turn that shit into gold.

Why is the U.S. going to fail? The recession? Governments don’t fail as much as the OP thinks they do, but they still fail pretty badly. The only real issue here is the debt about a war America is technically losing.

Why doesn’t the US take note from one of the countries that managed to get themselves out of debt?
America is only falling because of progressive leaders like George W. Bush, Clinton and Obama. We’ve been going down this decline for a while now. We can stop this into turning into the next depression. The only way to come back up is cut taxes, cut the spending, and promote innovation. I consider myself an independent btw so don’t be calling me a Republican or Democrat.
