Where do you put in the Cheat Codes at.Are there any Cheat Codes out there for this game.Did the Developers include them.
The source engine as himself have 3 universal codes/cheats (for all source engine games):
first, in steam, put the properties, launch options and put “-console”, without “”
when you start the game you gonna see a console, dont close, start a new game, or load a game, press escape, and in the console write “sv_Cheats 1” and then put the cheats:
God: godmode
Noclip: Ghost mode
Impulse 101: all weapons
the rest are more for development (like npc create, wireframe, etc…
There are no cheat codes. This is a hardcore game for hardcore players who are hardcore.
Two-part question: Do you know what a developer console is? And do you know what a question mark is?
If you absolutely must use cheats, I believe this can help you --------->https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJZmU2JgE5A
Haha, yes… but its still super fun to go on a rampage with the shotty on them scientists at the start of the game Bloody mess that is Poor bastards just wanted to wish me a good morning or nice to see you mr freeman ^^
Ive added a black mesa shortcut to my desktop and added -console to the end of that.
Still can’t get the dev console to open.
Where exactly should i add it??
-thanks
Go to Options > Keyboard > Advanced to enable it, then in Options > Keyboard to change whatever key you want to toggle it.
If that doesn’t work, try this:
- Close Black Mesa.
- Open Steam.
- Browse to the Library (All Games).
- Right click “Black Mesa”.
- Click “Properties” (on the bottom of the menu).
- Click “Set Launch Options…”.
- Type “-console” (without “”).
- Click “OK”.
- Close the “Black Mesa - Properties” window.
- Start the game.
Note: Adding “-dev” (without “”) to the Launch Options enables
“sv_cheats” (it is set to 1) and some more in-game information (in the top left corner of the screen), as well.
thx! this made more sense, then adding it to my desktop shortcut
First those console, then u gonna see the console and first u need to enter sv_cheats 1 to activate the cheats, then u can use noclip, god and such
Quick summary of the avalible useful everyday commands for black mesa.
NOTE: The vast majorty of these require “sv_cheats 1” to be enabled.
god | Prevents you from taking any damage or knockback what so ever. You can still die by falling into scripted death triggers, like jumping off of bottomless pits.
buddha | Allows you to take damage, but you will never fall below 1 hitpoint. Very rarely you will die with this code. Does not require cheats.
noclip | Enables “fly” mode, where you can clip through walls and other obstacles. Be aware that you can still trigger map triggers, such as tripmines and scripted sequences.
impulse 101 | Gives you all weapons, maxes out reserve and secondary ammunition, and gives you one health kit and battery.
notarget | Prevents AI from targeting you, AI characters will still move around.
ai_disable | Turns off AI completely, this can cause strange things to happen.
give | A very flexible command, able to give a large quantity of items.
ent_create | Similar to give, but will create the object where your cursor is pointing.
Examples
give item_healthkit | Gives the player a health kit worth 25 health.
give item_battery | Gives the player a battery worth 15 armor.
give weapon_shotgun | Gives the player a shotgun.
give item_ammo_357 | Gives the player a pickup of .357 magnum ammo.
give item_longjump | Gives the player the long jump module.
Type dumpentityfactories to show everything you can give/spawn.
NOTE: Not all of these things can or should be spawned. If it doesn’t look familiar, don’t spawn it!
One thing to remember when having cheats enabled is that on games that have Achievements enabling the cheats will cause Achievements to get disabled, you know a kind of anti-cheat which prevents you from cheating to get Achievements.
Actually, with Black Mesa, they don’t get disabled at all, which is strange.
That is because its not on Steam yet.
Input of cheat codes is the same as Half Life ie via the console. However, some are the same (eg impulse 101 and sv_infinite_aux_power 1) and others do not work (eg give item_ammo_357). If anyone has an updated list, I would be grateful.
How do I turn the cheat mode back off again? - I turned on noclip to get through the generators as it was p1ssing me off hugely now I cant get it back to normal?
You can deactivate noclip simply by retyping it in the console. If you want to deactivate cheats entirely then ‘sv_cheats 0’ is the command you’re looking for.
Cheers mate… tried that… makes no difference… noclip wont turn off…
Yep even gone back to an earlier point in the game and tried it again… sv_cheats 0 or noclip has no effect once its been enabled… I just cant get the jumping bit on the generators…
Make sure sv_cheats is set to 1 before attempting to toggle the cheat.
