Charity, yay or nay?

Except that NO ONE, and I do mean NO ONE, got to where they are today without “external interference”. Hell, you wouldn’t even know your ABCs without external interference.

Take a look at A Day in the Life of Joe Republican to see what I mean.

EDIT: I know you don’t think that way, Soup – I was talking to those that ARE so-called “rugged individualists”.

I was being sarcastic, silly.

All I can think of is that the people that run and support organizations like that are a milder version of people like me. They want to do charity, but only if they’re 100% sure that it goes to the people that deserve it, so that nothing goes to waste. Economic-minded charity, I guess.

Anyway, take a look at this site: https://www.squidoo.com/child-organizations . To quote the quote on that site:

You are trying to change the subject. I asked why prior fuck-ups should disqualify you from future help. You didn’t answer this question.

Well, to me it’s simple: they’re humans, humans don’t learn from mistakes. I see no reason in helping someone that is prone to fuck up again.

Now you reply with “So the few people that’ll fuck up again make up for the countless of others who won’t?”, to which I’ll reply “I believe that there’s more people that’ll fuck up again than those that’ll learn”.

PS: might as well ask that question to Sassy as well.

O_o

:what:

There should’ve been a “most” before that. Sorry. I thought it would be clear through the part that followed (the few-many thing)

O_o

:what:

Your faith in mankind confuses me.

and when we humans ARN’T fucking up, were helping the others that are.

but of course, something as perfect and holy as the great Bolteh could never understand that.

I don’t have faith in mankind. I have evidence. We’d still be in caves today if we didn’t learn from our mistakes.

i wouldn’t have faith in man kind if everyone was like bolteh…

maybe someone should find bolteh, put him in a box, send him to africa and see what he thinks of donations after a few years of trying to live out there…

Gandhi once said

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty

I fully understand the idiocy and selfishness that hides behind the pretty facade of charity. All I can do is laugh at how foolish you all are for assuming that it matters and for believing that you’re changing the world to a better place.

Humans are flawed, our entire society is flawed, you people cling on to the few individuals that live good lives and are blind enough to see nothing bad in this world. I on the other hand have a skeptical and bitter view when it comes to us, our past and our future and I see no reason to throw my efforts and resources away as if they were mere drops on a hot plate. I live now, with those that I care for and they care for me, anything outside of that has no business in my life. It’s a far-from-my-bed show, a show filled with hypocrisy, selfishness, lies, false ideals and corruption. So excuse me if I sit here and be happy with what I have, be thankful that I got a good life with everything I could possibly want.

I have said what I wanted to say, if you don’t like, so be it.

And meanwhile, you assume that we see nothing bad in this world and that we don’t turn a skeptical eye. We don’t allow cynicism, however, to sway us from that which is factually correct by turning it into something factually incorrect.

The world is flawed and so is our entire society, but that does NOT mean that we can’t attempt to better ourselves. You recently used an analogy (and then lied about us) regarding holes in a sinking ship. You claimed (falsely) that we are celebrating the patching of one hole, implying that we don’t do anything else. That’s the falsehood. That’s the lie. We patch one hole while working on the other holes.

What you’re claiming is that the ship is sinking and, since it is the fault of the captain for causing those holes, we shouldn’t try to help patch as many holes as possible. After all, you got you and your family, why should you help others?

Charity has helped millions of people. The world IS a better place through charity. Your life, Bolteh, has been improved by charity. You may not see it because of your cynical blinders caused by your undue focus on the wrongs and ignoring all the good that charity does.

If you would open your eyes, you might see that your life and the lives of your family, has been improved by charity, Bolteh.

Then you could stop being hypocritical, selfish, filled with lies and false ideals, and corrupt.

Your lack of faith in mankind confuses me. Just because there are humans that are dicks (Yes I’m looking at you Bolteh) that doesn’t mean every human is. In fact it’s a relatively small portion of the human population (but it shouldn’t be underestimated).

Bolteh, you are now stuck in a shithole. You have been beat and shat and pissed on, stranded in the middle of the desert, mutilated part of your body, and you are now being fried on a hot day on the desert sand.

A little kid comes by eating a cookie, horrified and wondering why the shit is this person smelling like piss and shit, and his skin roasting in the sand.

he gives you this cookie. He runs away quickly, only to return with other people to help you up and give you a good and proper bath and some rest. They are horrified at looking at you, and want to beat the piss out of that person who beat you.

Why the hell would you not want charity in the world.

bolteh, I suggest you bring a pistol with you everywhere you go, so that you can end yourself should someone force charity on you like that.

A relatively small portion is actually the cancer of our society, but our compliance with their wishes and demands only ends up continuing their bullshit for generations to come. not to mention how stupid people are (Not Americans, People). Watch people drive on the freeway, that will give you an impression of how unintelligent people are. the majority of people are not dicks per say, but will willingly follow a dick’s agenda as their gospel, just look at the pope. A man says something like 'Catholics are not allowed to wear condoms" to a group of Africans dying of AIDS and they will blindly follow him even if it means others will dye, simply because they are stupid, and weak.

Granted, take what everyone says with a grain of salt: good people aren’t always good people all of the time. Good people can have their fair share of dick moments, but a ‘dick’ can also have some of his better moments. From a perspective removed from the actual scene of events it may seem like some sort of agenda is going on, but things change when you’re in the actual scene.

Sorry if my example up there sounded harsh: I just wanted to make it sound as viscerally revolting as possible.

my point was more so alluding to the mob mentality that gives people comfort and the ability to “fit-in” and interact with society. That’s why High schoolers and children being the social and emotional retards that they are, find it easier to make fun of someone in order to fit into a group than alternatives. This type of thinking trickles into more subtle instances as adults. thats why we as a society tolerate so much bullshit, we’re so focused on ourselves that we lose sense of the big picture.

In my opinion, the keys to advancing society are through providing citizens with a cheap means to quickly gain information, and a cheap way to get technology. For internet, phone and TV i pay around 170 dollars, why on earth would anybody tolerate that?

Let it be known though that unlike Bolteh, I’m dedicating my life to solving the problems of society, and not just ignoring them and living blissfully. I do however stress that just because you are aware of these problems, and you donate money, doesn’t mean you are making a difference. Finding direct solutions, and direct means of donating your money almost always is better than just throwing it at somebody else and hoping they get their shit together.
