BMS crashes when I try to hit a level load trigger

Hello,

I just got to the point in BMS after you fire the test rocket and kill the 3-tentacled monster. Whenever I go down the ladder in the pit, the game crashes when I hit the level load trigger.

I was having so much fun :’(

More info: It crashes whether I fall down the pit or go slowly down the ladder. I have tried loading from multiple saves and nothing has fixed the issue. Please help!
