bmrf.us

There was a huge update to bmrf.us, which is owned by Josh Hubi AKA Hubicorn, which is one of the BMS developers.

Some transmission stuff with a lambda commented out in the source, much like the BMS Homepage, this leads me to believe it’s fun decipher time again, and probably extremely close to the launch of BM:S on Steam.

Or… Hubi could be having some fun.

Edit: IP appears to be the same as the one for blackmesasource.com.

And here… we… go!

Someone on Reddit already commented on it. Oh god I hope it IS about announcing a release date.

It’s for the ARG and has nothing to do with release dates

Yeah, I won’t get my hopes up for the release date anyway.

The images are interesting at least:

Those images were present before the website was changed to its current state. They were there for approximately 3 years.

Source: I found bmrf.us 3 years ago.

Release date or not, that broadcast sends chills down my spine. Imagine that happening for real.

Yea that is a really creepy announcement. Imagine the panic it would cause.

A 75-mile radius. Sheesh.

Well they were going to nuke the place.

not cannon. It was only shown in opposing force which is 3rd party. considering how fast shit hit the fan they might not have even had a chance to.

Opposing Force itself is a grey area, (ie, it’s “canon” unless otherwise dictated by Valve) but the nuke is canon. I can’t seem to find an exact quote right now, which is odd, but I recall Marc Laidlaw stating so, with the explanation that it gave them an extra excuse to move the series out of Black Mesa.

^ Plus, it’s good that the US military knows when to listen to Ripley.

EMPLOYES is a typo. It should be EMPLOYS. Any chance to get this fixed?

Yeah, they already fixed it. They figured that misspelling a word was simply unforgivable so, they created an emergency signal just to warn everyone to not do it again.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
