My personal rule for chat/forums in general.

Don’t try hard to be funny or to fit in. If you can’t thing on anything good to say, don’t say it. If you don’t feel integrated with the general vibe of the place, maybe you just belong somewhere else.

People who try to clash with this and just try too hard, generally get banned or leave on their own eventually.
