BM made Wireds 2010 Vaporware list

That’s right !! :freeman: :bms:

yeah, i mean… look at this! we are famous, even though we are famous for
the delay(s)… but we are.

We?

I posted the 2009 Awards last year (lurker myself).
As disappointed as I am in the mod being unreleased- I don’t think it qualified this year.
Look at the qualifications: (from the article)

It must have been promised to ship during 2010.

No rumors. That means no Facebook phones, solar-powered bathyspheres or Radio Raheem iPod boomboxes. It has to have been announced with a 2010 release date attached.

If you can buy it, play it, download it or open it in your browser, it doesn’t count. If it shipped — even if it sucked — it’s not vaporware.

Software stuck in a never-ending, pre-release, beta-testing stage can be considered vaporware.

There has been pretty much NO information since they canceled the 2009 release (No -2 twitters do no count)
No promises to ship- at all.
No Rumors.
The only thing they had to go on was the last line- but seriously- this is being done by volunteers. One would think they mean “companies wasted huge amounts of money in a never-ending, pre-release,…”

i see myself rather a part of a big awesome project than just a forum member.
i think this is sometihng like a community

Well, you’re not. Sorry to disappoint there.

this^

drop the cockyness, none of us are “a part of a big awesome project”, we’re just humble, patient fans waiting for the mod to release (well, the better half of us are anyway). sorry to stifle you, but you are “just a forum member” along with all the rest of us.

No… torrents will just break when there aren’t enough seeds. This event will crash them.

Haha. Smell the irony.

please explain :expressionless:

No.

yes

…a seemingly nice person (unlike many of the posters here lately) speaks of BM as an awesome project and how he likes posting in the community and he gets told to drop the cockyness and start being humble like the the rest of us?

^_^:’(:lol::lol::lol:

That’s not what he said or what he’s being called out for. He said that he thinks of himself as a part of the project, he isn’t. Community yes, development no.

It is a project of fans for fans. Thus, why couldn’t he be part of the project too? He isn’t in the dev team, ok… But if he is a community member that is supporting the mod like everybody else here, so it is already sufficient to be part of the project as a whole.

Some people come here and post often, others give suggestions sometimes, others check what is happening in the mod once in a year and say “Wow, Nice! I trust on you dev team!” etc… Each person here contribute to the mod in a way or another. He can feel whatever he wants. It is better than do nothing and just say “Duh, Balck Meas iz ded”.

I feel the same like him, even not being on the dev team. And I’m doing my part…

And you? What are YOU doing?*

*=Just a “philosophical question” to make everybody think. Not directed to anybody in special.[/SIZE]

philosophical*

:fffuuu:

Corrected. Thanks!

rhetorical*

You’re a pretty big part of the mod, with all your work on the wiki, so you’re probably more a part of the dev team than anyone else, along with a few other people

they should put this on the main webpage, Black Mesa: “2 time Wired VOTY winner”

I think it’s the third time we get mentioned.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
