Just wondering, did you guys intend to put this work in progress Xen map in the update today?

Xen progress so far…[/size]

Jokes aside, definitely unintended and put there by mistake, or “unintended” because some cheeky dev wanted to give us the sweet taste of Xen.

I noticed that model, too. Wondering what it’s about.

Given how there’s 2 models, one for grapple gun and the other for the hook - it will probably be a usable accessory/weapon/item to get to vertically high areas that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to. It will be interesting I suppose.

This leak makes me sad, if all xen is that early we will be waiting for years.

I doubt it’s a usable item, because you have long jump for that kind of thing. It’s probably just a prop that was used by the dead researchers.

I can at least say Xen is not this early on. This concept map was accidentally merged in and it’s pretty dated.

This was the very first version of that map that any of us ever saw, a very long time ago, the mapper accidentally committed it to the wrong branch (CU4 instead of Xen). It ended up being accidentally deployed today with CU4.

It’s Interloper C.

But it’s now Interloper D, and will possibly be Interloper E soon. Take from that what you will.

is there a post about CU4? i have look ed at the forums and didn’t see anything partly confused due to the 725 mb update and no details

EDIT steam page now has the details

good to hear it was one of the first versions of the map. Still this is a little sad, our first bit of news on XEN is an old test map leak. This probibly dashed the hopes of more then just me with out that clarification.

Well, that picture alone didn’t dash my thoughts. Cause i randomly gave a 2year release window for the XEN chapters. So no rush! just take your time and let them hand us Bug Fix Updates

Sooooo…

When are we gonna get to see a not so dated version???

I said “vertically” for a reason - because that’s not what the long jump is for.

I very highly doubt that the grapple gun will be usable, as it is listed in props and not weapons (also, the props are static and not physics).

This is not news on Xen and is nothing to be a little sad about.
The proof that the devs are working on Xen is that they say they are working on it. Just because a placeholding map from several iterations ago was accidentally left in a patch means nothing.
When the devs are ready to release information on Xen, they will and it won’t be by accident.

They did, and it was on purpose.

In due time my dear friend
