Only bad part about the HD pack was the beretta. Everything else was exceptionally better, especially the character models. Don’t even get me started on the low-def hgrunts . . .

The beretta and the M4 did feel out of place, since they were both military weapons. The glock and Mp5 gave it a nice ‘‘private army’’ sort of feel.
Also, the glock can fire underwater, but you have to rack the slide each shot.

It may have made more sense to have the Military using Beretta, and you started out with a Glock. Then you would just collect ammunition until you had to lose the Glock, then you’d either pick up another one, or a Beretta.

But that would just be ridiculous.

I love absolutely everything about the HD pack. I do not see how people can fault it.

HD texturing is okay for me, just that damn beretta ruins it.

Played several times with and without it. These days, its the only way to go until black mesa is released

i liked a lot of the upgrades, particularly the shotgun. Just couldnt get why they replaced the mp5sd5 with a M4 and didnt upgrade its firepower (makes a lot of noise but is pretty impotent. Understandably this would change the whole game, but to me they could have just recreated a better mp5.
Also, agree the grunts look better, but they’re helmets dont deflect bullets anymore, plus they’re heads are larger and more vulnerable… meaning when fighting alien slaves, they die easier (also cant head shot on an alien slave), i found this altered the outcome of a lot of the fights.

I really liked the M4, but was always annoyed that it was a mere skin for the MP5. The two weapons are just too different, it’s like reskinning the RPG with an M79.

Upon googling the M79, I realized “OSHI- that’s were they go the idea for the Demoman’s nade launcher!” I know. I’m slow :[

i liked both the original weapons and the mp4/spas why couldnt gear box include them both?

I think the only thing about the hi-def pack i don’t like is the g-man. Apart from that 'tis all good.

Gearbox should have made less changes, more polies. /thread
EDIT: And the Spas-12 was in LD HL, just without a stock and with different sounds…And a different shotgun in the HUD.

Seeing that I already have the HD pack for HL : S :sick: urce, I think I’ll give it a go. The only thing that I am concerned with is the LR-300.
