Guys did you all noticed with the F2P change of Team Fortress 2, you can run sourcemods without buying a game? so bm will be avalaible to any account for 0 money. this is fantastic,
You still need Source SDK Base
Wich is also free now. And I’ve known this for some time now.
source sdk is free, i dont think sdk base comes with it
correct me if im wrong
I remember when I first heard about Black Mesa I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to play it because I wasn’t able to afford any Source games at the time.
You mean to tell me nobody has tried running a mod on just source SDK yet? Not evne to see what happens?
Actually I can play mods like Firearms :Source, CS :promod, css sci fi and others, and I only have TF2 in my account. Both SDK bases are fully downloaded and installed.
And you also can get free HL2 Death match and lostcoast by this links:
For ati: https://www.steampowered.com/ati_offer1a/
For nvidia: https://www.steampowered.com/nvidia/
Correct me if I’m wrong, but having the SDK without the SDK base would mean you could design maps but not run them?
No, it would mean that you could make maps and test them in the game you own (like TF2) but you couldn’t make mods.
Fair enough. By the way, your avatar is deeply disturbing…
Regular cat doing regular cats business.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I am often corrected when I am wrong.
I hate cats.
Ahahaha
I could have Black Mesa for free anyways because I’ve got Half Life 2 Deathmatch free for buying an Nvidia videocard.
This was 2 years ago.
I don’t really give two fucks about what I had had to pay for to aquire the proper tools required to play Black Mesa.
BECAUSE ITS FUCKING BLACK MESA.
That didn’t give you the SDK anyways, Joe.
It did. Or maybe it was Lost Coast, or the demo of portal(Both free). Anyways, I’ve got the SDK and I can run Source mods with it. Per example, I play Insurgency with no problems, or the one of the guy who escapes the asylum that looks cartoonish.
You need “source sdk base orange box”
It’s simple, Free TF2 gives you the ability to run mods but not to make them.
