Black Mesa: The Comic Character List

Ok, so since the idea was sprung by Jambo, I’ve decided to make it official (almost).

PLEASE REPORT ANY ERROR’S AND I’LL FIX THEM ASAP (OR WHEN I CAN BE BOTHERED)

Post here your name and what Gmod or custom model (must post a valid download link) you would like used to represent you in the comic series.

When choosing a model, make sure you have poseable limbs and what not, I wont accept models like tree’s or stupid things like that, remember, since it’s a comic, people making the comics will have to rely on body language a lot to express the mood as well.

All comics should be posted in the Show Off section of the forum, to stick with the rules.

Since I made the last model pack on LF, after SgtJman made the first, I thought I’d do this one.

Once we get all regular and well known members in the list, I’ll compile a big rar for people to just drop in Gmod and go from there.

Noob’s can request as well, but chances of you being in a comic straight away are slim, don’t ask me why, this is just how it goes.

Also, make them quality, try not to cheap out the comics in MS paint, try use some effort in GIMP or PS.

Dibs on Gordon Frohman rebel (we’ve all read “Concerned,” right?)

I assume I’m regular and well known. Can’t blame a man for trying.

On the short time I was on LF I think I requested Father Gregory. Not sure tho.

I demand to be this guy:

But if it’s too impractical, then this guy:

I’m gonna try get in contact with Operative LM and see if I can get most of the older comics from him as examples of the type of humor and comic style to use.

Plus, the old LF: Health Warning comics were genius.

No problem with the first one, I’ll update my first post to clarify what type of models people should choose.

is there anyway to permanatly add this:https://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=4034 to barney or the like? because if so, [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]I DO WANT.

EDIT:

THIS IS THE JAVID.

Boo! This topic is bad and you should feel bad.

Anyone knows if it’s easy to change a texture and what’s the model name of Father Grigori?

GTFO then Dias and don’t come back.

And Fodder, I’m confused, do you want the marine or the barney model?

EDIT: IOF, its the ‘monk’ model in the HL2 directory, Gmod sources the model from there, and it’s easy to edit a material, but it’s better if you get someone to dupe it and hex edit so you have the edited version and the original.

sorry there, barney if you please.

Give me Magnusson, if you will.

cough alyx cough

sorry.
but really, Eli. I’ve always thought that Eli was a badass. I mean, he survived a bullsquid to the leg.

Do you want Alyx or Eli.

Come on guys, make you posts clear and simple.

ooh! ooh! I wanna be the Stalker.

Thanks. I extracted all the “monk.x” files from the GCF, is it what you we’re talking about?

You actually need;

model.dx80.vtx
model.dx90.vtx
model.mdl
model.phy
model.sw.vtx
model.vvd

Before you have a working model.

Once you have that, rename then, then get a hex editor and go through till you find the model name inside the file and the directory for the model and materials and change them so they match.

I’m not sure on the exact details, but I’m pretty sure that’s how it goes.

I’m sure there are many tut’s on how to do it.

male_06, please! I’ve always loved that frumpy guy.

Sorry but my character is the one you’re thinking of, with a Dark Side of the Moon shirt on :rage:. We can’t have two different characters with identical faces.

I thought it was pretty clear I wanted eli… oh well. I hate the internet. :frowning:

Well, if I’m important enough to be in there ( I am, rite? ) I’d say the Zombie ( sans Headcrab ) would be fitting for me
