Whenever I play Black Mesa it shows up as Source SDK 2007 in my friends list. It’s kind of distracting and I was wondering if there’s any way to make it say Black Mesa again.
I’ve tried reinstalling both the SDK and BMS without any luck.

Add a non-steam game like a browser or just about any program, right click on it in the library and click properties and then rename it to “Black Mesa”. Launch it first and then Black Mesa, and there you go.
That’s a neat little solution but… not quite what I was looking for.
Black Mesa counts as a non-steam game. It wont make a difference either way.
Black Mesa says In-Mod tho.
As far as I know, all mods are displayed like that right now. The steam version will display the name properly.

Looking forward to the Steam version.
Mine shows up as Black Mesa when I run it through Steam, and SDK Base 2007 when I run it from Hammer.
What do you mean? I only get it showing up as SDK Base 2007 when I run it as a mod.
I mean exactly what I said. It shows up as Black Mesa when I run it through Steam. Perhaps it’s just different for you for some inexplicable reason.
Yeah I honestly don’t know. It’s been like that ever since one of the Steam updates.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
