offline WTF
bleck
Its not offline for me.
This is really exciting. xD
Alright, some more stuff.
When you enter ‘Cheesecake’ as the password on the glados encryption negation thing, it cracks the remote gateway for 30 seconds :
https://www.narthorn.info/files/fsrag1.jpg
Then it asks for some input :
https://www.narthorn.info/files/fsrag2.jpg
That actually worked ! I went back and translated to binary the missing part and plugged the whole thing as input, here’s what I got :
https://www.narthorn.info/files/fsrag3.jpg
([x-ray echo november] = NATO alphabet for xen)
Since it’s 2am, I’m going to sleep and leaving you with a TL;DR of the thread:
It all starts with https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com
according to “whois” the site has been online all along since March 2009
source of the scientist pic on the site
Applying for a job under the name of George Antheil and reference of Olivia Wilkins gets you some interesting emails!
One is from Olivia with a link to an employment pdf with a hidden message
Unfortunately offline https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/fsrag/ but the local time in the source code is refreshed [EDIT] it is said to be up currently as is https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/forms/alena.html Password is ‘Cheesecake’
The second is from Aperture Science
The song from the Daisy_Bell page
There are interesting things found in the source code
stringing the known transmissions (1,2 and 4 of 4) decodes as “Simulation data for specimen:GG-3883. Simulatio______________________________de Scenario Inevitable.”
a link to youtube video can be found on the site
The morse code in the youtube video says: “SOS Stop BMRf”
The coordinates 33.193 -106.583 in the video point to the “White Sands Missile Complex”
s² = c²Δt² - Δr² is an equation for a “space-time interval”
There are multiple pics too
one of them is George Orwell
This painting is another one. anyone recognises?
Mr Nerftron’s blog, obtained from the youtube profile page.
corrected audio from the video linked to one of the pics in the album
A couple more interesting posts: about pinging the bmrf site, the glados flash and the Field Studies Remote Access Gateway site
I have complete confidence that you’ll get to the bottom this. Have fun!
I found part 3!
==transmission3/4==1110001000000101001001100101011100110111010101101100011101000011101000100000010100100110010101110011011011110110111001100001011011100110001101100101001000000100001101100001011100110110001101==transmission3/4==
It was in this image when i opened it with notepad.
Alright, so after entering input data, I got redirected to https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/cookie.php.
Apparently it put some cookie on my computer, because now the main page looks like this to me :
https://www.narthorn.info/files/bmrf.jpg
(text at the bottom appears when you mouse over the “lambda” symbol)
I’m pretty much stumped for now… I hope it doesn’t end here ?

Oh, I love this stuff. The thread about Portal ARG is still active and its post count is over 9.000 (or to be more precise - 11.612).
Yeah, it’s hard to get valid Google Maps links. Just copy&paste the coordinates.
It looks like a runway.
So, how many of you think the BM dev team had something to do with this? That date looks very suspicious.
Double post, sorry.
Sorry narthorn, but I’m afraid that is the end If you go to the blackmesaresearchfacility.com/# page, and look at the source code, you’ll find some Trevor Brennan listed as the author in the meta tags, you’ll also find a link to his website, trevorbrennan.com. Didn’t find any info about blackmesaresearchfacility.com there though.
It can’t end there :fffuuu:!
…I was getting so hyped for a huge ending
Well… It might continue? The audio from the video on Vimeo, it mentioned ‘25th of this month’, right? So maybe it will be continued then? That could also explain why the audio had the Combine sounds in the end; whoever made this all clearly knows Half-Life lore, so I don’t think they’d put those sounds in the audio if it is supposed to happen around the Black Mesa incident. So, basically, I’m saying that we might get a “sequel” on 25th that happens after Combine invasion
I’m with you on this one. It seems like something they’d do for some reason.
Does anyone else find it weird that there is no dev action in this thread? it seems like something ram would take part in. Im starting to think that maybe they expected all of this. Maybe they hold the key. Maybe the 25th is gonna blow us away.
I also see cpl.insane watching this unfold. Maybe he should step in and say something.
dear DEV, please… just give to us the download link.
Probably to hint us something, the same way Valve hinted Portal 2 by using hidden messages (like SSTV).
I’ve tried to transcript the audio, but this is as far as I got. I’m not sure what is said in […?] parts. Does anyone understand it better?
(Breencast can be heard in background)
(Speaker) Is… is it on? Ohh, listen, you’ve got to stop being [sin?] or it’s not gonna end well for anyone. [Or I could show because?] on the 25th on this month [we can’t too much from here?], but we are attempting to [send few attachments of data?] Although we can, but God knows if this message will…
(Overwatch voice, much louder than Breencast Attention! All citizens in local residential block…
(Speaker) Fuck, fuck, turn it off, turn it off!
EDIT: the corrected transcript is here.
The speaker is probably supposed to be a citizen in City 17 or some other city under Combine control. He said to someone to turn off the device (a radio?) because they were in danger of getting caught. But why would he require someone else to turn off the radio? Could it be that the other guy was holding a camera? A news reporter maybe?
Exactly what I was thinking.
I was just about to say exactly what Khaos said. Why aren’t the devs saying that it’s not real?
