hey
I would like to play Black Mesa, but after about 20 minutes, the PC reboots.
Did you probably know this problem? What should I do?
PC Info:
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V
8GB Ram
Graphics card: GTX 660 ti
CPU: Intel Core I7
Thanks in advance

take out your RAM, blow in the slots NES-cartridge style and re-install your RAM
To have a PC arbitrarily reboot is probably a temperature issue. You should grab speccy, furmark, and prime95. Run fur/prime and watch your temperatures. Though, if you can run multiple other high power games without issue, then temperature is probably not the problem.
Serious issues like memory or video card faults would result in BSODs, but you would have said so.
What exactly occurs when the machine reboots? Does it crash to the bios? Or does it shutdown as it would if you told it to?
Seems like extreme temperatures are the most likely culprit.
well the reason I recommended to check the RAM is because that’s the easiest to check out of the list of possible issues
That’s bad for your carts, man. Corrodes the connector pins.
i know, still, better than an unstable computer.
I am using ddr2 x2 sticks that are over 5 yrs old, had to blow on the slot a few times last year but not this year, all seems good so far
For some reason sersoft always thinks blow-jobs fix everything.
Here are the temperatures:
Speccy:
CPU: 50-55°C EDIT: New temerature: 86°C
Motherboard: 33°C
Hard Drive: 32°C
FurMark:
Graphic Card: up to 70°C
How can i cool down my PC?
-New thermal compund? (its about one year old)
-More fans?
If it’s a heating issue, you could modify the fan speed in the bios menù( google it)
Side effect: Your pc could get really noisy!
What does speccy say your exact CPU specification is? (Once you find out, find your safe temps here: https://ark.intel.com/)
See this picture to find out exactly where it tells you:

I’ll take a guess, and assume it’s in the 3XXX range.
This means that the safe operating temperature maximum is between 67-70°C. (Meaning you’re a good 15 degrees over, at least.)
I would suggest going out and buying some new thermal compound, for a start.
Follow up by buying some compressed or (or loaning an air compressor from a friend in the trades).
Don’t get too close to your electronics with that air stream! But get as much dust out of your computer / video card as possible.
The most important step would be to remove your CPU, blow the living **** out of the heatsink so that no dust remains. Rub off the residue thermal paste from the connection point and then apply a blob of the new stuff.
If you’ve never done it before, make sure you spend a good hour or so researching all you can about CPU / Heatsink installation!
This will actually help. I was running at 60 degrees idle, I did a very half-assed job of what I described above and my temperatures dropped to idling at 40.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
