Listen to the trailer. That’s not Valve’s G-Man you’re hearing, it’s debeerguy (who also does the Barney voice, and gets it bloody perfect).
I don’t really hear him say anything… At least I can’t make out any words. I thought that was Nihilanths voice. o_O Maybe I’m looking in the wrong spot.
When you see G-Man’s face in the trailer, he says ‘Prepare for Unforeseen Consequences’. It’s heavily processed with reverb and it’s not loud, so turn up your volume and listen closely.
If I didn’t know better I could have sworn it’s the original G-Man voice actor, it sounds spot on.
Ah, got it now… I think I would have to hear a better sample to judge it, but it sounds pretty close. And am I the only one who heard Nihilanth in the “prepaaaare” part? Am I 6 months too late for this discussion? -_-
What is debeerguy’s steam id?
there is no reason to have his steam id. why would you want that?
To send him a Steam Message asking him for his password
(Somebody should link Debeerguy to this thread since we’re talking about him so much.)[/size]
Personally, I don’t trust his record on international affairs enough for him to be made the administrator of a secret underground research complex. And does he have family values that would appeal to the average voter?
LMAO
Strangely, if you search for about three minutes on Steam, you can find his community page. You don’t need anything more than that to send him a perfect to be rejected friend request.
It’s because the music has stopped by that point, so the bass from the music no longer interferes with the sound on top of that. At least that’s the way I understood it.
I don’t see how. If they can get a jet engine, gunshot or Gargantua noise damn near perfect, then they can certainly procure a whale song and modify that.
The blazes are you blathering about?
Yeah, well, your nose is not nearly as pretty as everyone makes it out to be.
Oh thanks, but uh, who did the Decay menu song then? Chris Jensen?
No, it was Brandon Blume. He has two versions of the song. the shorter version used on the Decay menu, and the longer extended one.
Beethoven would beat Joel to death with a violin.

Love the music, but one quick question here:
My absolute favourite track of the original soundtrack was Song 15, which was reused in Half-Life 2 for the lighthouse battle and in Episode 2 for the opening recap. Will that be included in Black Mesa? Loved gunfighting to that music. :freeman: For me this is THE connecting Half-Life theme that reoccurs in every game - and HAS to reoccur. I just wanted to know if the complete soundtrack of Black Mesa will be new or if evergreens like this will also be used?
I don’t think they can re-use the exact track, but Joel could certainly compose something inspired by it. I agree, however, that track just screams “Half-Life”.
Indeed - this has to be my favorite song from the series.
It can only be reused if it’s distributed with Source’s Base Content… otherwise, using it in a freely downloadable project is copyright infringement.
