I thought the weapons were high def enough, aside from the M4 the weapon replacements in the HD pack were inferior weapons to the original.

I agreed with the ridiculousness of this statement initially, but then I realized how great Blue Shift or Opposing Force mods could be in terms of compatibility or continuity if they used Black Mesa as a base. We could play all these remakes and they would all fit together perfectly which would add to the experience.

We wouldn’t have to experience three different versions of the exact same room (say, for instance, the Black Mesa entrance to give an idea of how blatantly obvious the contrast between different variations of a room can be [despite whether or not all mods actually see that room, it’s just an example]) when playing through these remakes.
