Source SDK 2013 is released ! Its possible to run on it black mesa to get multicore support and better performance ?
I guess it depends how much work is envolved to move the mod to the new engine…
But maybe it would solve some weird engine bugs and add more posibilities to the mod!
It seems Source SDK Base 2013 has two seperate downloads: Single Player and Multiplayer (downloading them both right now!)
2013 is released but 2009 isn’t -_-

2013 IS the 2009 engine. It’s just called 2013.
Did u have a look in it already if it’s easy to move everything to 2013?
We still have more investigating to do. I can’t give a firm answer on this until we’ve come to a decision.

All of the “engines” are the same. They just went through incremental changes. The version that Valve released is the latest stable build. Also, they put it on github (basically crowd-sourced coding) so it constantly updates due to changes from Valve employees and even the community. The multiplayer branch has already been updated since they released the initial build.
So if I’m reading this correctly, the Source engine basically went open source? That’s pretty good news.
From what I can tell, nothing’s really changed. You just have a newer version of the engine than you did a week ago.
Well maybe extra bugfixes to the engine?!

It is not the complete engine that you get as a Source licensee. It it still basically Source Mod SDK but they now host it on Github. Don’t get your hopes up. You still need the Source SDK Base stuff installed from Steam to run games (this includes the binaries like hl2.exe and a host of DLLs containing engine code that you don’t get to tinker with). The Mod SDK lets you build your own server.dll and client.dll. That’s it!
so…this new source sdk changes anything for me who wants to play this now? i can still download it normally, right? sorry, im really a newbie on all this.
obs: i was tryng to find and download the source sdk 2007 on steam, but i cant find it. Is that because the new one is out? i have to download the 2013 now?
