I just got up to Questionable Ethics on hard, and I’ve been playing since yesterday.
I’m taking my time, exploring as much as I can, and I’m loving every second.

oh my god i m at questionable ethics right now… the game is unbelievable!!! just one complaint: residue processing was too long! even almost longer than in the original! i still hate this chapter…
I played Black Mesa Source, I have seen the hud and I did not like, as this would be best in this picture:
also want change in the test chamber a kind of machine that is located next to the stairs by a computer as it appears in half life, and what I do not like is the lever arms, does not seem right as the holding would look good so: and hornetgun not like both would be better if they were based on the sven coop hgun, and what surprises me most is the weapon (squeak) does not seem unrealistic based on the game, they would have to also building the squeak of sven coop. something but the crosshairs on weapons are not nearly as in half life would change it as in the original game. Well, it’s better for the game to make the changes that would be loyal to the half life, also hope to do that to release an update, I hope not to bother. translated by google translator.
Yes! I am going to (Re-live) my childhood now!
I guess I’m a little late, but I just lifted my forums account from the depths of the abyss that is my mind, so I just wanted to stop by and say two things:
Who might guess what comes now, everyone surely. Anyway, here comes: Thank you for not putting recaptcha in the password recovery field, but instead some captcha that is humanly readable.
…And of course an honest “Thank you all” for this great piece of art, for your time, your work, your sometimes entertaining …uhm… skirmishes with the community and all the other stuff you did during your work on Black Mesa for which I don’t find any suitable nouns.
Gonna try and run this on Linux tomorrow(Windows ate itself yesterday, if nothing works I’ll be reinstalling it simply for Black Mesa, even if it’s such a drag), too tired right now, be seeding this for the next weeks maybe, word’s out already to everyone who cared to know(or didn’t ). Okay punctuation is overrated… I guess it’s better for me to stop writing now.
Dear Dev Team,
I just stopped by to say thank you for this unbelievably cool piece of art. I simply felt like I had to congratulate you on this and the least I could do is to express my gratitude for your hard work and dedication over so many years.
I do feel the love for HL1 that you put into this project every second I play this game. In fact, when I play it I feel like teleported back in time, reminded of when I first played the Half Life Uplink demo… the excitement, the creeps, … and this was where the most defining era of my childhood started. I am just so happy I can live through these moments once again now.
You’ve got my greatest respect and I wish you that Black Mesa gets all the attention and success that it deserves. This game is truly amazing.

I feel a little weird now that it’s out… like… I’m now living in a world where I can play Black Mesa…
It is worthy of the Half Life mantle, and then some. Stupendous work.
I just noticed the scientists arguing that “recreating something is inherently less useful then making something new”. Nice little wink there. I really do hope that you guys make some kind of developer commentary. I’d like to know not only how the maps were remade, but also who made them. I’d like to fully appreciate the team not just Raminator, Stormseeker or JamesKane (the most prominent devs in the forums that I remember).
@Xappy:
I know that feel, bro. It’s extreme happiness, combined with lingering emptiness for me. At least I have Xen to look forward to/pester the developers about.
Finished earlier today. Excellent?
THIS IS BLOODY AWESOME (SORRY FOR BAD LANGUAGE) - BUT IT TRULY EXPRESSES MY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE CREATED THIS MASTERPIECE.
AMAZING DETAIL AND CLEARLY LOTS OF TIME HAS GONE INTO THIS.
THANK YOU AGAIN!
Do you have a Caps Lock problem?
Downloading it now, thank’s guys for this amazing game.
This game looks really great, I’m really excited for it.
I just need to sort out my problems.
Talking about the HUD, though I miss the original one from HL, I admit that this one is also neat and fits well to Black Mesa. - By the way, the timer for Oxygen under water was a magnificent idea . The other thing I was worried about was the OAR revamp, but my worries were baseless again, the place is cool.
But my favourite map element in all the chapters are the closed doors, room and corridors, etc… they give the impression of a really huge facility, and the alternate routes also break the linearity of the game.
Isn’t it cool, when the developpers of a game are skillful fans, who know exactly what’s needed to improve the thing?
Problems? I have problems. That is, if you count being a sociopath as “problems.”
Have to say, the mod is fantastic. And hard. I even had trouble with a few sequences on normal difficulty, such as that questionable ethics trap. Great work devs.
Just finished this mod… Best mod I’ve ever played hands down. Nothing compares to the amount of effort you devs put into this. Really I can’t tell you how awesome this was in words you just have to play it. Now release Xen and I will eat my computer out of happiness. GREAT JOB!
i dont know anything about this game, but looking at 8 years development, im downloading this.
Just finished it. Yes I did spend most of my Saturday playing it minus a few hours here and there for college football games. Well done gentlemen. :freeman:
I’ve just finished my second play through on hard.
Your work is phenomenal and further beyond any inflated expectations I could have placed on this game.
Questionable Ethics and onwards is indescribably breathtaking in both atmosphere and the gameplay.
I have serious faith that as a team, these DEVs will bring Xen to its full potential, and flawlessly wrap up this biblical re envisioning of one of the greatest games put together.
Good luck, team. Every award given to you for your work is more then well earned.
