Speaking of recording HD videos what are you guys using to record these? Ive heard some talk about demo recording via console or something. Does that work well and if you use it please post the commands or some instructions for getting the output file and such. Thanks

I think I’ll go ahead and try a speedrun. Should be interesting seeing as it’ll only be my second playthrough. Hopefully Fraps doesn’t make me lag, my PC is crap enough already.

I sure hope people watch that and see how effective it can be…at least it LOOKED effective to me. My strategy involved killing all of those first soldiers marching away from you with the explosive barrels (got all of them with a pistol shot) and then sniping the rest.

Actually I’m not very experienced with demos so I have no idea if that would actually work. :stuck_out_tongue:

That was precisely my intention when making that video: to show that the MP5 DOES NOT SUCK in the least. I specifically loaded up the INFAMOUS Dam sequence that EVERYONE is complaining about, on HARD difficulty, and I made a point to use the MP5 as much as possible.

Wow, nice jumping at the tripmine part. Did you have to modify any of your configs? I think it is impossible to do what you did with default settings.

No config modification. Just your usual crouch jumping. The last jump involves some slight airstrafing (using your mouse to guide your trajectory) but I think it can be done w/o airstrafing. I just did it because my initial momentum was in the wrong direction.

I’m making my way to the osprey sequence of Surface Tension to to make a video of how I do it on hard, but I figured since I’m at the trip mine part I’d do that one.

Thinking about doing a video for the sewer/tank section in the level before the trip mines too.

You should do a speedrun, with those skills you should be able to do less than 2 hours easily.

Did a comparison video between BM and the original. Recorded both in 1280x720 resolution at 60 FPS though reduced to 30 FPS during rendering due to the ridiculous file size.
