But when i move my cursor in other viewport cursor not working properly anymore. it has to become arrow to show me when i can drag brush, but it not. Is it a problem with that viewport specifically? As in, if you change the top right viewport to a side view, do you get the same problem? Or is it just an issue with the top view? As in, if you change ANOTHER port to the top view, does it have the same issue? Could you verify this for us, please?

It’s always random.

And when i’m changing view mode its still not working correctly.

Nothing can actually be done since it is a general issue for everyone.

It seems like it was fixed in the newer SDK tools for newer games.

Like Peter said, as far as I know, that’s a generic problem. It happens to me in Half-Life 2 Hammer and Black Mesa Hammer all the time.

The best way I’ve found to overcome it is to simply rock the mouse wheel forward and back (i.e. zoom out and in) which seems to “wake up” the view so the cursor works correctly.

If it’s any consolation, Hammer under Linux (using Wine) has a variation of this problem where the view doesn’t update at all until you hover over it. I mention this because it demonstrates that Hammer does put the other views to “sleep” and is sometimes quite lazy about when to reactivate them, which is probably at the core of this problem.
