Black Mesa :: Aussie Edition

From 1997 PC game called Blood.

As you can see nothing before Call of Duty.

I never said Call of Duty was the first series to use dual wielding or the word akimbo. You can’t deny that between Halo and Call of Duty, both became much more popular than they were.

I deny it. There are tons of games that use dual wielding. It goes beyond Goldeneye, beyond Tomb Raider, beyond that shitty mech game I used to play on 5.25 inch floppy. The concept goes as far back as D&D for crying out loud.

I would argue that even though it appears more popular, it’s only because of the technology. Look, you’re citing Halo. Halo is a launch title for the world’s first mainstream double trigger controller. Coincidence? No.

I never said it was new, I never said technology had anything to do with it, and Halo 1 didn’t have it.

I said, specifically, Modern Warfare 2 made the word “akimbo” more popular and widely known than it had been.

I know that there are a bunch of games that have dual wielding. It’s not my fault that people reacted to my post by flipping out and saying every game ever had dual wielding even before Pong.

Easy, easy. I had no beef whatsoever with your argument until you said BOTH became much more popular as a result of a few whored out IPs.

The word akimbo, sure, although I don’t know enough about it either way to judge to be honest. Duel wielding which you subsequently included, no. That’s not correct.

I wasn’t angry or anything, so no worries there :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess I just didn’t play a whole lot of games with dual wielding ever.

The first game I played that had dual-guns was Action Quake 2 (though is that a game or a mod?).

its a game you idiot!

It’s a mod for Quake II. I remember playing it. Quake II had a shitload of mods, which was awesome.

Not Quake 2, dumbass. “Action Quake 2”.
