Black Mesa Animation Revamp Project(by IIopn)

He seems to be taking more feedback for this one. Even if it’s not perfect right now, something that annoyed me about the BM crossbow was the very visible clipping when he pulled back the string.

If I had to choose the weapon with the overall least professional quality of animations in Black Mesa, I’d say it would probably be the crossbow.

whine whine whine

Not gordon’s fault he’s buff enough to load a crossbow like a rubber band

Look at the lower string as Gordon pull the bolt

I saw. It looks fine.

ok

Moving on;

Anyone else interested to see how he’ll top the hivehand pickup sequence

Oh god, I completely forgot that he’s gonna have to do that.

It should hopefully be…interesting

So long as he doesn’t feel it up with his finger all should be well.

Crowbar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2EmTyo2Krs

That floating left hand can just fuck right off, that isn’t HL.

Does his left hand really need to be fisted every time Gordon swings?

Looking good, BTW. So much better.

That’s the point, fridge.

I kinda like the left hand being in the rig. Makes the animations feel more grounded. Handling a real crowbar means you have to shift your weight to compensate for the weight a bit, because, after all, you’re swinging around a seven pound chunk of metal with one hand.

He won’t touch the hivehand since he can’t do organic animation like alien stuff

Kidding.
All jokes aside, the swing looks nice, and the left-hand is done well, but it kind of feels off. Maybe it’s 'cause I’m not used to it. I can’t imagine it ingame, though. It’s probably ruined with all the tilting and stuff.

The crowbar animations look great overall. It will be another weapon which looks weird while scaling ladders (not that Gordon isn’t amazing enough to scale ladders with just his feet), but I’m not complaining.

He’ll remove the left hand

Also here’s the updated crossbow

I would’ve posted the crossbow update but I didn’t really see any difference TBH.
Crowbar is good though!

Reload seems slower, but that’s it
